Well, I've had the celi for about a year and a half now... bought it on my own, just love the way it looks, and it's still an enjoyable car to drive... but it just doesn't have the get up and go that I want in a car...
So here's the plan... get a new car that has some get up and go, and keep the celi as a daily driver... can't beat the 30 mpg my celi gives me ![]() I like the Scion tc... thinking about getting a supercharged one, or the Cobalt SS, or possibly even an SRT-4. I like the looks of the tc and the reliability of toyota behind it, but i like the looks of the Cobalt SS more... Srt-4 comes into play b/c of it's power/cost comparison to the tc/cobalt ss... the looks aren't great, but not bad... but the power is nice...and a dealership around here has a few 2004's selling for just under 19K...but it's still a dodge... Any other suggestions or ideas? I'm pretty sure I want to buy a brand new car, so not looking at anything used...thanx for ne input yinz have... |

well, the Cobalt SS can be made as fast as the SRT will few mods (it is not that much slower stock) but the srt can be made Drastically more powerful with a boost controler and proper fuel adjustment.
The TC isn't even in the ball park stock, and I don't think the Supercharged one will be either, Yes, it's still a dodge,,, but a dodge that can run 12's for under a grand. ![]() Yes, the Cobalt does look good, but it's not going to be the ground pounder that the SRT is. (it is a better car, and more refined though,,, also beats the SRT on the track) Tc... not a huge fan, but We'll see how the road tests go. ![]() re-finance your house and buy a new vette. ![]() |

THe newer Srt-4 come with LSD last I heard. I know that SCC magazine upgraded their SRt-4 which turned out to be pretty amazing. I don't think it cost them that much either.

Well, went and test drove a 2004 srt-4 today... all i have to say is, i'm hooked.
Dispite what i've believed about the interior, it wasn't too bad... actually kind of nice... not having power rear windows kind of sux... but then again, i'll never be sitting back there ne ways. The dash was suprisingly well designed... As for the "go"... oh, it goes... never really all out floored it, but it picked up speed quick... gave it about 75% throttle from 3-4.5k rpm in 3rd gear and it brought a smile to my face ![]() Called about insurance today... insurance on the Celi would drop to $105 every 6 months... but with a lien on the car, and only being 19, the srt would run $2,070 every six months...which is cheaper than what i paid for the celi when it had a lein on it at 18 yoa... I can live with that... the car will be paid off in less than 3 years, so the insurance would drop drastically then... Gonna call USAA and have them start negotiating a price... plus they offer free Gap insurance... Unless i find something else in the next week or two, I'm gonna order one...and finnaly have a car I want to take to a trac ![]() This post has been edited by CupCrazy38: Apr 7, 2005 - 6:28 PM |
