Yup just got owned by my friends 4 door rs with 140k miles.
i got the launch and he pulled on me.. he had 2 other people in the car and i only had one skinny passanger.. yes this is street racing!!! but it was only till 10mph over the speed limit.. so its nothing too dangerious. We are gonna take it to the track and setting it there.. I plan on gutting out the celica and full tune up.. with all belts ( except alternator ) removed. Do you think i would win? what would my 1/4 mile be? both cars are stock down to the air boxes. |

Gutting the Celica doesn't save that much weight...most of my interior is out at the moment and it's not that heavy.

i know some tricks like.. deflating the tires to get more grip.. but with the power i'm dealing with, its practically useless.
maybe i should do what those muscle car guys do.. put some dry ice over the intake to cool the intake manifold??? |

What good is that going to do? |

you just have to face the fact that your car is slow. Looks nice, but very slow. If you want to be faster, turbo, nitrous, swap or a dif car. Simple as that. I personally wouldnt waste your time striping anything, maybe subs if you have them and or a spare tire, but nothing else.

it acutally helps alot, its the whole reason why people buy underdriven pully kits. i'm gonna remove the ac and powersteer belt so that should free up some power. yea its gonna be slow.. buts its all part of the fun and games.. |

I certainly wouldn't call a BEAMs powered SS-III slow. So what you're really saying is US spec 6th gens are slow. Thats because they fitted economy engines for reasons that still haven't been explained to me. -------------------- JDM ST205
