SO I am looking to buy some wheels and tires and I started to do some research. My tires currently are P225/50R16.. Now, I know that 50's wont fit on 17's underneath those wheel wells, so I would have to go down. Basically I want to know your opinion on what I should get. I know I will get 17's, not sure what brand or anything, but they have to look nice on my black celi. The roads over here are rough, so I can't go too low profile tires either. Any suggestions on wheels and tire sizes, brands ect?

For a 7 x 17" rim, I would go 215/45/17 in your circumstances. If you want performance allseasons, I suggest the Pirelli P Zero Nero M & S, Continental ContiExtreme Contact, Khumo Ecsta ASX or, if you want a great tire at a great price, the Avon Tech M550 A/S. My first choice would be the Pirelli's. My second the Conti's and my third the Avon's.

I found the rims I want.. sort of.. They are Stern ST-2. The smallest size is 18X8.5.. So what would be the best sized tire for my situation? Also they come staggered, so should I go 18X8.5 in front and 18X9.5 in rear? or would that fit?
EDIT here is a link. http://sternwheels.com/ Just click ST-2 and it will bring up a picture. This post has been edited by 95CelicaST: Apr 17, 2005 - 1:35 AM -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Offset of the wheels? I dont know the answer to your question as there are not alot of people running wheels over 8" wide on these cars. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

well currently I have 16" wheels that are 8.5 inches wide, however when I move up to a bigger rim I will need to go smaller... so that rim is out of the question... any other rims worth mentioning?

Either the Dunamis or the Vanquish Mmm I think those would look nice at shows. I doubt that they'll even fit on my car but oh they're nice. |
