yeah, the backwindow will be a pain, especially since you have a coupe. With a hatch you could open the hatch and get into it a lot easier. Still its going to be a huge peice of tint and it will be rough making sure you don't get any bubbles in there. I recommend getting it professionally.

you have to steam it off, if you use a razor and cut any of the heating lines, you are screwed. you have to get an ammonia based solution, spary it on the window, then apply a black trash bag cut to the dimensions of the glass on after you have sprayed th window with the solution, then tape it in place and leave it in the hot sun for an hour or two. then, you should be able to peel the tint off and use a scrubing sponge and more ammonia solution to remove the glue. Just dont use a razor blade!

I do tints all the time its a little harder than putting it on and pressing it.Just make sure you use plenty of water when applying. I use a water and baby shampoo mix. As long as you keep it wet you should be ok. Then all you have to do is squege out the water. You might have to do stripes if you get V shaped air bubbles on the sides of the tint. Sometimes back windows you cant use one big piece because ofthe shape of the glass.

you spray water on the outside of the window and put the tint on that to get the shape (film side touching window, paper side facing out). once cut, you clean the inside of the window and spray water/baby shampoo. take the paper backing off the tint film and spray onto the sticky side, then apply. use flat plastic piece (ex. credit card) to flatten everything (bubbles). if you get a v shaped bubbles coming from the curves of the glass, you use hair dryer to shrink the film while pressing firmly in those areas. its a really simple process really. the only hard part is finding tint film big enough. cost of materials: $20
this was only one huge tint film for the back: This post has been edited by forkee: Sep 3, 2004 - 2:36 PM -------------------- |

Yeah man, it's easy but kinda tricky. I always mix a little bit of dishwashing liquid with water, and I use a blade and a little squeegee. I've never had any escapee bubbles, hehe.
