I don't see how you came up with $12,000. XAT Racing will do the swap for $4,500. Add the cost of a stock older sixth gen. Celica in fair condition($4,000 or so), and you're at $8,500. If you get a cheaper one with a blown engine or something, you could spend maybe $1,500 and have a $6,000 3S-GTE-swapped Celica.

How long is a bit of string?

I could probably drop 20K on a 3S-GTE.

It would go damn fast afterwards.
