I've seen people post how-to's on how to change the LED lights in the interior(gauges, keyhole ring, cig lighter, climate control, etc.) Can anyone summarize this by typing up a list of the type of LED lights and the place where it goes. I want to buy the LEDs all at once and replace them all the same day. I know there are a bunch of #194 and #74 bulbs in the car. Also, if someone could also include exterior LEDs we could change. Like the tail lights, etc. That would be greatly appreciated and I think it would help a lot of people out. O yeah, if you can, pleasse include how to change the Automatic P,R,N,D,L,2, Lights. Thanks.

short answer
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProducts/A...placementGuide/

though they were wrong for my 99gt trunk light (which isn't a 194 but some strange 1-1/8 inch festoon)

long answer
climate control = 3x toyota part number 84999-70007 bulbs, and a solder-on led for each button
guage cluster = 3x 194 bulbs, and a bunch of 74 bubls for the smaller lights (i guess just count the little indicators on your guage cluster to find the number)
glove box = 74 bulb
overhead cabin light = Ba9 bulb
door intererior lights = 194 (but with a red lense)
trunk = 1-1/8 inch festoon (i ended up getting a 1-1/4 inch festoon and filing it down a bit)
ignition ring = 74 bulb (had to file it down a little)
auto transmission light = no idea yet.
ash tray = i think i heard that you can get a 74 to fit ok
cigarette lighter = special one i rigged a 74 led bulb in there, horrible job. looks fine, but it's kinda dim.

Are you doing gauge cluster as well? There are a ton of 74 bulbs in there. Only 3 bulbs are 194 and every other bulb is 74. I'd say at least 10 in the gauge cluster alone.

i'll keep up the short/long trend.

short answer: 10 might not be enough to do the whole car, but it's certainly enough to get started!

long answer (on hold with a dell tech support guy):
well, there are allot of smaller lights in the guage cluster, all of which the lighting guide says are num 74.

i had a slight issue with polarity (i think, though it might've just been a fluke). so i'm not going to replace any of the warning lights (anything i can't turn on myself to test and see if the light is working, such as "check engine").

the lights i can control in there are emergency-brake, 2 turn signals, high beam, and door-open. is there a seatbelt light, i forget? so that's like 5 or 6.

but if you want to do them all you'll probably be safe to just count all the little indicators that you want to replace. another little warning is that most of them have a colored lense in front of the light (so the turn signals might be cyan, and the emergency-brake might be purple (that'd be kinda cool) ).

so maybe count up all the guage cluster lights you are going to change-out. +1 for the ignition light (if your celica has one), +1 for the glove box (white looks really good in there), +1 for the cigarette lighter if you want to do a real hack job like i did (i'll give you all the gory details if you want). and you should be good. if you want a little more adventure add on 3 or 4 more and try to do your climate control with them, and the ashtray light.

Zim - when you turn your car on, but dont start it, you ought to get check engine light.. or at least I do.

And, joker, LEDs are not bulbs, although I presume you can order LED bulbs like some places sell. I am going to do my car with LEDs, and I got 100 blue ones for 12 bucks
