Camber kits, CHEAP---- Options

This has been very briefly covered before but i figured i would make sure everyone in the 6GC community knows. If you want a camber kit you can order through a Toyota dealership. They actually have them, they call them CRASH BOLTS. There are three different kinds, one with one dot, two dots, and three dots on them. All the dots represent are the amount of degrees allowed in the camber adjustment. I will try to find the part numbers (i cant remember who gave them to me) and then ill post back. But they are only like 7 dollars a bolt. (You need one or two bolts per wheel, pending on how much adjustment is needed) So they are cheap, and work perfectly...........Hopefully this helps out a lot of people.

actually I was wondering. the top and bottom strut to knuckle bolts are different right? I bought 4 three dot camber bolts can I use them in place of four bolts?

Yea thats what i did. I bought three of the three dot bolts, and used all four of them in the front (to replace all 4 front strut bolts). And i think the rear are the same as the front as well, so you could get them for the back too, but that im not posistive about.

Thanks......alright i got the part number. It is 90105-15011. This is the one with three dots, it allows for the most amount of camber adjustment. I think the other two part numbers are 90105-15010 and 90105-15012, but not postive. You can call any Toyota dealership for any further information. I got four bolts for $24.36...but there cheaper here.

Good info. Just for curiousity's sake, do you have pictures of the bolts? I'm wondering how they look compared to my current Ingalls camber bolts(Which I only have in the front.)

No i do not have any pics, but i just bought new strut mounts with camber adjustment, so im hoping i can move the bolts to the back with no problem and then i'll take pics of them. They look like this ==-------D. Instead of an actual CAM like most of them, the center is thinner so you can move it.

theres a bunch of other threads with stuff about camber, like when you need them and where to get them. but this site shows what it does. to make it simple, your cars tires stock are like this |------| and when you lower a car it does this /-----\

You should only buy them when you do need them. I know some people have said we do not need them no matter how low you are but thats wrong. I have coil overs and lowered almost all the way and before i got a camber kit my tires got eaten away on the inside from riding like /-----\. If you are lowered more than like 2 to 2 1/2 inches then you need them.

i just put tien type-s on my celica... its only like a 1.25 drop in fron and 1 in back...

Our cars come stock with adjustable camber, and you will need to have it adjusted most likley. But you will not have to buy an aftermarket camber kit.

how much degrees can our cars adjust without the bolts?

i'd have to double check, but without the crash bolts it shouldnt be that much. But apparently, the crash bolts give more then enough range of adjustment. One guy i talked to said he got it to just over -3 degrees with the crash bolts.

To find out, find someone who does alignments and try to adjust the camber as far negative as possible.

These bolts are good for the rear. I hate the fronts, you cannot control toe in and out because the assembly moves around alot when you put in the bolts. but thats alignment.

When ever you get 4 wheel alignment, the place doing it will put them on for you if needed, but i don't know how much they are.

I bought my spc camber bolts for $60 dollars ya i know expensive, online is like $45. You only need 1 camber bolts for each strut.

I installed df210 and kyb gr2 on my own. When i went to get alignment, the right front strut was pretty good not off at all. My other 3 struts were off some but not enough to the point where they had to use the spc camber bolts that i bought/provided for them to use if necessary. And i got lucky cause alignemnt was $70 and they would have charged me an additional $20 a strut if they would of use the camber bolts.
