Just bought me some nice half price infinity speakers for the front the doors , box says that they are 16.5 cm approx 6.5". Anyone know whether they fit though coz i'm lazy and haven't ever taken the door panels off yet?

i have some Kicker DX60 6 1/2" coaxials up front.. i had to make a baffle out of 3/4" MDF to make them fit... if you are going to make your own baffle... i recommend not using 3/4" mdf because the bottom front of the door panel will not close all the way so i cannot screw it in, while it isnt noticable at all, i guess its just too big or there is something else in the way... make sure the baffle is bigger than the stock speaker holder deal.. so it will lay over it and then cut the ring in the baffle, but a little smaller than the speaker brackets for a good fit.. you can use any type of material, as long as it isnt flimsy cardboard or something.. they do make thinner MDF though....(i will have pics soon)

uh oh!
Got the front door panels off and found out that the plastic speaker mounts measure 20cm from one screw hole to its opposite partner which is far to big for these speakers . Anyone got a link for an adapter (preferably UK)? I looked at the back speakers and I think they would fit there but a) i couldnt get the panels off, and b) the ones mounted there are kinda square, how do i get the panels off and will the shape matter?? Cheers for any input... Dan |
