Well I know that you all are saying that "ST" sucks and all that, but I have been spanking lot of cars lately...
-I wanna see who got the fastest ST -and also to see how many GTs are spanking my ass -SO LIST YOUR MODIFICATIONS / HORSEPOWER / AND TIMES (1/4mile) "MY MODZ + TIMEZ" Injen Intake w/Heatshield Corolla 7AFE Headers 4-2-1 Custom 2.25 Cat-Back Exhaust w/C-west Mufler Nology Wires Nology Sparkplugs Venom Fuel Injectors Venom Fuel Pump ZEX Nitrous 65-shot "DRY" Smart Opener/HeatMask/RPM engage module JET programing My car was on MustangDyno this Friday pushing out 171HP (that's about 200hp at flywheel) The car on the 1/4th mile (1320ft) was doing anywhere between 15.0 and 15.3 depending when I engaged NOS.... yea I know that's still slow... but remember that I got over 110K on the engine plus the tranny is AUTOMATIC.... |

oh and btw im gonna be boosting at 7 psi in about a month maybe less. and currently my 1/4 mile time is the same as a 1998 gmc sierra sle(not sure what it is buy my car keeps right at his side) currently i only have a cheapo intake and venom 400(which is great when the car is already moving) This post has been edited by 97sccelica: Apr 11, 2003 - 12:44 AM -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Interesting numbers... Curious how with those simple mods...minus the 65 shot you can push over 110 hp at the wheels... meaning you're getting better than 140-150 at the crank... that's 30-40 hp over stock. Geez... from a 7A!?
On my old 94 ST, I ran low 15's and can hit high 14's back when I was shooting a 75 shot... but my other engine mods were more extreme. Port Polish head (valves, seats, retainers, everything), CAI, 2.25 exhaust w/ free-flow cat, ASP underdrive pulley, modified hp headers, and SAFC. Running all motor... I only managed high 15's...even low 16's . On a dyno... heh...with nos I'd venture a guess around 170-180 whp. Without Nitrious... well, 100 whp or so. But I say again...my mods are somewhat more extreme than yours... and that motor eventually blew a head gasket and fried the internals. It was a 5speed... My current ST... a 95 only runs mid 16's with CAI, Exhaust, and Underdrive pulley...for now. All I need to do is find someone that makes custom exhaust manifolds and have them do a 7A turbo manifold for me. After that, I can custom fab almost all of the plumbing for a turbo kit. Either way, interesting numbers. I do have a friend who ran a 14.1 with is 3200lb Honda Prelude Vtech, shooting a 75 shot with an Auto tranny... so I'm not totally doubting you... just skeptical... I have timeslips of all of my runs somewhere... so I do have proof. |

I'll reply to this topic next month cause I'm working on the head.....the mods I've on:
- Ported and polished head, compared combustion chambers and CR raised to 12:1 - Polished valves - Polished intake manifold and bored to match the intake ports - custom made 2.25" exhaust with no cat and custom muffler. - custom CAI with H&M filter - GT4 fuel pump - fuel pressure regulator - SAFC2 - R1 ground wires - custom head gasket And I'm thinking to take larger injectors....do you know if 3sge injectors are a direct replacement??? If not, which are?? Also going to get an header from Aerospeed or HP racing as soon as I can.... I'll tell you my power when I'll go to test my engine! do you have an estimate of the money you spent for all those mods? $1000 - $1500? |

Someone asked me about dyno sheet..... **** I don't know where it is....
but I do have slips from rt-66 raceway (1/4 mile), I post those when I get back from school... -but I do also have the "VIDEO" of the dyno though, and the quarter mile vs GSR and also Civic SI, it's pretty cool.... We should all ask COOMER for posting like a section on this server for VIDEO's.... they are more fun then picz.... |

I think Evil Speedtoe has the fastest NA ST... he's the guy who makes short rams/CAIs/custom catback exhausts for 6th gen STs.

Motor feels good but i know it is about to go... =/ 3s-gte coming in 2 weeks. hopefully ill get everything on my ST now bolted up to the 3sgte. =)

Charlie:
Will the pistons from a 7A fit a 4Age 20v? I was thinking lower the CR and boost. |

speedtoe ran a 15.8 with cold air intake, full exhaust, underdrive pulley and tuned s-afc. thats probably the fastest number I've seen for a N/A ST without major work. of course if we're talking about forced induction and nitrous thats a whole different story. |

they won't fit in a 4age 20V block. i mean, they will, but there are 5 valves per cylinder vs. 4 in the 4agze, so the indents in the piston tops are different. and you run the risk of serious damage were the valves to hit the piston tops. also, you'd have to get a really really custom made turbo manifold, i can't even imagine how much that would cost on an engine that didn't make it to the US. you'd be better off just getting a 3sgte instead of trying to turbo a 20V, it would be cheaper in the end.
