I set the date today, the shops paint both is opening up and I jumped in. My car is going in Monday april 25th, in the morning. I have to work the night before so as soon as i get home, I'm gana strip it donw, put it on a trailer and drive it to the shop, I'm gana save about 400 because I'm taking the bumpers, tail lights, trim mirror and crap off so that they dont have too, and obviously I cant drive it like that.
what there gana do: - remove my fiberglass thats filling the wing holes, and fill it right (weld it iin) - smooth up my doors to a perfect surface - pull my "garage accident" dent out - fix a few more little rock chips/dents - go over the whole car and smooth everything else out - paint under the hood including the hood hinges to match - re-paint the whole car, end to end top to bottum. Final price $2700.00 I'm so excited about it, its gana look so nice, and the day I get it back (2 weeks after I drop it off) I'm gana put my kit on (it was painted by the same shop,) my new wheels, jdm tails, side turn signals, and get my intake done and in. Then send it off the the window shop to have it all tinted to the legal limit (I would have it done darker but I know I would have a problem with the cops if I did) also before I drop it I'm gana pull the dash peaces and primer/paint them up nice. I CANT WAIT! Its gana be the hottest little car in my area, well worth the money thats going/gone into it. Pic's I love the looks, its so nice. It seems like everyone just has to take a look at it. Its become my dream car. This post has been edited by creis: May 13, 2005 - 2:30 PM -------------------- |

It when into the shop monday and should (I HOPE) be done thursday but i said not to rush it even if it means he will have it longer. (i'm paying a flat price anyway shop time is his problem)
I spent about 4 1/2 hours stripping it, with my repair manual at my side, I took both bumpers off, the tail lights, rear windshild wiper and washer nosel, the antenna, both side mirrors and the trim off the doors , then tosed the tails and both bumpers back with 2 bults each on so i could drive it to the shop, where i was met with the shop owner and several guys ready to get started, (I'm gana get a call friday or saturday about the progress) I miss it already, I hate driving the van to work, but its worth it. I took pics of it stripped and will post them as soon as i get a chance witch will probibly not be till my weekend (witch starts next monday probilby) edit: I cant type straight, I need to go to bed (I got home from work not long ago) and have to be at work at 8pm This post has been edited by creis: Apr 28, 2005 - 9:18 AM -------------------- |

same color (hence: re-paint), I really like the green, its not like the green 6 gens I have seen around here (much darker and deeper.) I though about black but there are so many people with it, its gana be much better because its all new paint so it will look like it came right out of the show room rather then the 10 years of faded paint it had.

So its done as far as the body work goes, its primed and going into the paint both Fri,
I'm Getting it back MONDAY, SO YAY FOR ME!!! then I have about a day or 2 of work before its all done, I gata install all the junk that I took off and all the new crap. once thats done its back to the shop to get the windows tinted (20% all around) I'm gana make the new sub box mold, Its going to hold all 3 of my 10's in the frunt side of the trunk (basicly a wedge like design between the back seat, and the trunk floor. (fiberglass with custome wood deviders so each sub has its own chamber.) then maybe start working on my sunroof mold. anyway Its all starting to come together, and I cant wait to drive her again, I hate driving the family van (aka: radio only gas hog/soccer mom.) -------------------- |

I guess your right, there is not to much "custom" about it, just the striped stuff, i guess. its more of a modded hotness.

Not sure if i would take my car there..the guy who used to own it back in the day was a great painter but horrible business man. Now the guys there are well theyre alright. I take my car to EuroTech. Mark Isral does my stuff. but a whole car being painted by him is like 7 G's...hes one of the best guys around though.
howd u find out about new look? well cant wait to see it - ull have to bring the car out This post has been edited by BlackCelicaGT94: May 6, 2005 - 1:53 PM -------------------- Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City

QUOTE Ouch about where ur taking ur car Dont give me a heart attack, do you know something about that shop that I should know? I have seen there work, (they fixed my sis's car) it was crazy good. and my dad has had things done there and they always do a great job. "horrible buisness man" I could not agree more, he does not know how to deal. but I got 5 other estamits as to what I wanted done, and his is about 1k under the next one, and 2.5k under the top estamite, its not the full re-paint that kicked up the price, its the horrific dent I have (its part dent part fold stupid garage was not looking where i was going) plus all the little dings and weilding the 6 wing holes. the paint is not his own, its from westco, witch I selected before he bought. I know there paint is top quality. anyway, I hope all goes well. This post has been edited by creis: May 6, 2005 - 1:59 PM -------------------- |

no its an alright place if ur not looking for car show good. If ur looking just to have it painted then its not bad. Especially since ur not doing a wild color it should be fine.
