Now before I get flamed, I realise there are other topics about this but I just can't make my mind up!! I don't want a second battery, just wanna put it in the stock mounting hole, but which one do I get. I know what the difference between them is. Has the yellow top got enough cranking amps to start the car all by itself though? I was gonna go for yellow over red, but I was chattin to a colleague today and he said to go for red if using it as a standalone battery, but I'm sure I've seen peoples cars using just yellow. Wanna get it right first time, these types of batteries are quite rare over in the UK and much more expensive (prob equivelent to over $320 US dollars!!) By the way, I'm running 4 x 10" subs, 3 x amps, 2 x 6x9's and a pair of components (can't be bothered to write up full spec, but roughly combined 750w RMS if that helps!!)
Opinions please? Cheers |

I just went through this, and got a reg batt. The yellow top is a deep cycle starting batt. Made for a large stero or extra electronics in your car, a Red top is a great batt for starting in all climates and id great for steros. they will also both be better if you do auto-x or have a stiff suspension and have bad roads. They can take the abuse much better. I went with a reg batt cause its hald or more the half the price, and It works fine for everything i have, and i dont plan on keeping my car for to long.
