I'm going to do a tune up on the car. I'm getting plugs, wires, air filter, and fuel filter. What kind of plugs/wires do you all recomend? More than likely I'm going with bosch platinum 4's again. Same with the wires, bosch. Unless anyone can tell me why I shouldn't. I've done some research, I just thought it might be nice to know what people on here think. Thank's.

What I've heard about the platinum pugs is that they work great till the platinum burns off, then they don't work so well. As for air filter, I was already set on k&n, unless I can get up the cash for a apexi. Anyone else heard this with the pugs? It's not really a big deal right now, these things aren't going to gain that much hp anyway. They'll all get me the tune up I need. Well, just about.

Yeah. toyota wires are more than fine for any mild tuning. Just use OEM wires unless your using some kind of forced induction.

So, just putting new OEM's would be the best for me? I am just at mild mods. Is it that they don't change them because they don't haft to? or is it because they just work better? The way you guys said it, it was because they work better. I'm all about putting the best of the best on my car. I've always been that way, and money isn't really the big of an issue. I'm just about broke, but I'd rather be broke with the best on my car, than have a cuple extra bucks and something I knew wasn't the best.

YES...Use OEM Wires and Plugs if you can...Autozone/advanced wires are super crappy and the boots sometimes will pull off and get stuck down in the plug hole. Bosch spark plugs are crrap!!! Toyota's seem to run rough with them..Ive tried them a few times. I do really like NGK V-Power copper plugs though in toyotas. You can pick those up for around 2$ each at advanced auto.

Anyone second the NGK V-power copper plugs? I get OEM from the factory, correct?

I use NGK. In addition to many other sources, Intense Motorsports (a well known performance shop in AZ) recommended NGK, and use a step colder if force induction.

I has my bosch wires in for like a month, then went to pull one out and the boot came off. Just go OEM, you won't notice a performence gain from oem plugs and wires vs the other guys

NGK plugs are great man. V-Power coppers are perfectly fine for our cars and run smooth. If you dont feel like going to the dealer just get you some of those and a set of plug wires from advanced auto. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE ANTISEEZE GREASE ON THE WIRE BOOTS THOUGH SO THEY DONT GET STUCK.

for the spark plugs; i would have to go with either stock denso or denso Iridium. but ngk are okay too. depending on how much u are planning to spend on tuning.

Iridiums are pointless on these cars. Even if you plan on building a built up turbo celica you could run NGK Coppers just fine. You arent not going to get any noticable performance out of plugs and wires on celica's.

So now I'm at NGK plugs, and OEM wires. So, getting off the plug discussion for a bit, is the OEM wires the best. I think one person said this, and everyone else was talking about plugs. And fuel filters are pretty much all the same. So I think I'm just about ready to start this thing. Sorry if I'm being annoying about some of this stuff, I just love my car, and I want to be absolutely positive about what's going on it. Thanks again to everyone who's posted so far.

ok if you want the best stick with K&N its much better then apexi and you should invest in a cold air intake
wires just go to advanced auto and buy the xact wires those will be fine....
as for plugs the v-power is ok but personally my next set is NGK iridiums...
and while your at it at advanced get GP sorensen cap and rotor

What's a GP sorensen cap and rotor? And I've seen test results that show Apexi being better than k&n, that doesn't mean that I want to pay the $70-80 for it though; which is why I'm more than likely getting k&n.
K&N
Apexi
K&N 2

I'm just going on the second test, I haven't seen to many of these pages though. They are a little difficult to search for, I keep getting results from the accual companies, which can be flawed. K&N is easier to find info on though.

Edit: I already have a CAI, and it has some generic foam filter on it right now. I just want a new one so I can take it off and put it on my girlfriends car.
