I remember back in the day someone had port and polished their engine... Does anyone know if there is much gain on the 7afe? Im thinking about getting a junkyard head and giving a shot at it from what I understand dremel tool is the tool of choice for this. Thats means nearly everyone has the tools for it tongue.gif

Thats what im thinkin of player... I just need to convince my parents I need to have an extra engine laying around for me to port and polish the head drill out the combustion chamber and turbo the **** outa it...

I would if I dint have to change wiring, I wana keep the car so i can swap in the old engine if something goes wrong... this is the only car I will have to go to college and back and I believe it takes a fair bit of rewiring to change the head?

the whole engine bay harness is changed and your interior is splice to go into the new ecu harness

I like the smell of the challenge don’t you Daniel? I know it may not be the most rational to build a massive hp engine, but that’s not my goal. My goal is to build a much faster version of my car with the ability to swap in my stock engine for va's hellish emissions ect.

if i were you guys i wanted to stick to the stock head

port and polish stage 3
3 angle with new bigger valves, springs, retainers
grind the cams
better head gasket
port match

that is just the head all that stuff $3,000

Not goin that high tech... the goal is just to teach myself alot get a fair bit faster and test my skills. In other words... dremmel tool and alot of time, I dont need the perfect race engine, I just dont want a stock 7afe anymore tongue.gif.

oh hell yea i like the smell of a challege the 3angle valve job will be done,
port and polish yes
and headgasket will be done on my head

along with a 1mm or so bore


oh did i mention i'm goin to run a 90% stock exhaust?
