I have street parking in Berkeley because it's only $30 for a year from the city instead of $50 bucks a month for a private parking spot through my apartment. So last weekend, I parked my car on the street in front of my house. There was this heavy black plastic garbage can sitting on the sidewalk in front of the car, but I didn't take too much note of it and happily went on my way inside the house.

When I came back out the next morning, the garbage can was knocked off the sidewalk and lay on the street next to my car. I looked closer and it left this dent about the side of a half dollar on my drivers side door!

AGUHG@!# WHY! What the hell? Bad karma? This thing has gotta cost at least a hundred bucks to fix. I was so angry - took it out on the trashcan and kicked it back cross the sidewalk. I still haven't gotten around to getting a quote on fixing the dent yet. <sigh>

Man, the guy I bought the car from lived in San Jose, and was a Berkeley grad. When I told him I was a Berkeley student he told me "You're taking it back to Berkeley - it's gonna get beat up"

Dag. I was fine until now. Shoo.

college cars get beat up man. its just a fact of life. I think I've spent about 1500 fixing dents in my car until I got it painted last summer. now looking at another 500 or so (this time it was my fault tho)

if theres no paint damage see if they can pop it from behind. paintless dent repair is usually pretty reasonable

I'm going to be paying about $80 a month for a private garage when I move into apartment, for the security and a place to work.

but that is not a bad dent, an easy do it yourself fix. just take the door panel off, put the window up and pop it back out, or get that "as seen on TV" dent thing and fix it, dont pay to have to have it done you'll get ripped.

Last year I parked my Prelude in the street and NOTHING happened to it, no dents, scratches, etc etc. This year I'm in the parking lot (which I pay extra for) and before I sold it in March the Prelude got hit twice and countless door dings. The Celica has been in the same lot for about 3 weeks now and has 4 new dents and a scratch on the front.

I would think that by the time ppl get to college they would at least be able to park a ****ing car, but I guess I thought wrong.

i just dont understand if the ppl at collage are 18+ 1 why can the ****ing park a car. 2 why are they so immature. 3 why cant they ever respect someone else's ****. and 4 if i usualy see a nice car i usualy make sure im more careful not to come close to it. cept for this 1 time where this kid drove a 00+ expedition. and he always made fun of my ford probe (wansnt that bad) and he like punched my windows 1 time while i was in it or somethin that really pissed me off,and a whole bucnh of other **** sooo i saw it parked 1 day and left say his drvers door and my foot got into a quarrel, and my foot wont with a nice bit dent in it.
