Make your own. Just take a hacksaw to your shifter. Shorter shifts.

there have been a few debates about these in the past. Do a search for "short shifter" and do some reading. Also the 7th gen short shifter fits fine and is a lot cheaper.

That isn't the same as getting a true short shifter. A short shifter extends the lever below the fulcrum.

i have the twm. its very very short, but you get used to it quick. i tried the trd one and i like that one too because its a little longer. either one you go with will be great tho.

IMO you cant really compare the 2, theyre 2 totally diffrent things
the TWM is a short shifter, IE SHORTER SHIFTER LENGTH
the TRD is a QUICKSHIFTER not shorter than stock, just quicker throw
the TRD is made to keep your hand CLOSER to the steering wheel, where it SHOULD be when your not shifting.

I knew there had to be something about them more than just the shorter shaft. I also knew that it was not as good of an idea to just saw off the shifter. I never knew exactly why though.

Anyone comferm this? TRD would most definately be my choice if this is the case. Is is really better for preformance driving?

i compared my twm to mannys trd one. my throw is a lot shorter. you can basically just rest your arm on the console and flick your wrist to change gears. but since the stick is so short, you have less leverage. so sometimes the trd one would make it easier to change gears but with a little bit of a longer throw.

basically

trd, great shifter, easy great changes, slightly longer throw then twm

twm, super short throw, but less leverage to work with, makes it easy to change gears with cups in the cup holder.

Cool, you use a 7th gen Shifter! smile.gif I think I might just use that one or I might just go with the TRD one.

I originally cut my shifter with a hack saw, so short that my shift knob wouldnt go down all the way and got in the way when i shifted. It made it shift faster but then i got the TRD Quickshifter and even tho it is higher, it shifts faster. I would go with TRD because, well it's TRD. It's like a stock part. It replaces the whole shifter assembly and not just the shifter rod and comes with steel bushings to replace the stock rubber ones (where it bolts to the car) so it also sits sturdier. Plus you get the sweetest shift knob ever.
