Ok thought this had gone away:

Problem: go to start the car, here "click" "click" and nothing, same thing a few times, then it starts. Battery seems fine, the lights, stereo etc. turn on but the engine doesn't, but after two or three times it starts. Anyone know what's going on? I do have a viper alarm, could it be an alarm short? Distributor, solenoid, starter?

Help appreciated

First, just open up your fuse boxes and push all the fuses down. My off-roading jeep does this all the time.

My car does this too, it usually only does it if it is cold out. I think its the starter going out, or the connection to the starter is bad. Because I have a new battery.

thanks dude, I'm thinking its the starter, but never know could be dirty contacts, or bad solenoid, pretty sure the battery is ok. Frustrating and hopefully not the starter because that could get expensive.

it is the starter no doubt. Starters are common on all Toyotas (10years/100K miles) a new starter should run you about $100 if you put it in yourself.
