I'm gonna touch up some rust spots on my car and was looking to sand off the rust first, can anyone reccomend a good type of sandpaper as well as a grade?? thxnks in advance

well that all depends...if you are just taking the rust off you can use a 600 grit paper, but at the same time you have to watch where you are sanding if you sand on the paint you will tear it all up if you doo go over the paint(not recemended) you will have to wet sand it with a 2000 grit over it to get the scratches out..then you will have to buff it. use the 6oo to get the rust off then once to do that if you paint it you will have to do some wet sanding but that is about it.

Go with 240 to get the rust off. Follow with 320 then 600. Make sure all edges are feather edged before primer.
