I've painted the interiors of several cars now. 2 of my own and several for my friends, but I've never charged for it. Now random people want me to paint their interiors for them. There is no way I'm doin all that work for free for ppl i dont really know. What do you guys think would be a decent price to charge. I was thinking about starting around $125 to sand and paint all the plastic trim pieces and clearcoat them. Is that too much?...too low? I have no idea.

Thanx for the input,

Figure out how many hours it takes you to do it, multiply by a decent hourly rate (say double the minimum wage, unless you're in an area with a really high min) and add the cost of any materials. Tada, labour plus parts = cost. Remind them they're not paying taxes -- unless you're expecting to do enough business the government might get interested.

Not too many painted interiors that i like, but yours doesnt look too bad at all... a subtle two tone. And those flames on the speaker grills are a nice touch.

no that would be to cheap..

he does a good job with the painting. so i would agree on 100 flat.. since you sand an prep the surface before you paint.

how much of the interior are you gonna paint? the dash and door inserts?

anything else in the rest of the cabin?

I think it depends on how much work they want done. If its just the plastic inserts, tell them if they get the paint, it would be $75, if they need you to order the paint, find a place to get the paint, get the price, and add $10 on to it. And remind them its car paint so its "expensive." God I love being a salesmen, scum of the earth ^_^

What I usually do is find out how much a shop charges and tell people Ill do it for half. Since most shops charge an arm and a leg. People usually jump on 50% off.

if i was going to pay for this type of thing, i would take the parts to a body shop and have them paint it with something better then a rattle can.
