i was talkin to guys at RCT. perforamce and they say that if i buy the universal AEM unit. install it myself wireing wise.. then tow the car to them they can tune it, dyno ect. starting at $400. hes a nice guy and owns a 500hp 3sgte mr2. so they wanna help me out basicly. he said that if i got a FPR like a 1.1 that it would richen me up in the lowerend alot and u could pull out fuel by the safc in the higher bands... iunno. stupid motors im gunna carberate it. j/p

dont waste anymore time with the SAFC or BTM

sell them and get a stand alone. things get a lot easier when you can adjust everything.

You know ItchyB, I was thinking about what you said on the phone, and I think the FPR idea might do the trick. Then the computer won't freak out and retard the timing and then we can lean it out up top with the SAFC. For that matter, so would larger injectors.

I still think that there's another problem that's causing that retarding and misfiring down low though... and it's better for us to fix the cause of the probem rather than the symptom, if that makes sense. You need to get the thing up and and we'll trace the problem out.

By the way, how did you know that the timing was being retarded? (Besides the obvious)

Okay sounds good. And you don't need a "rising rate" FPR, just an adjustable one, got that?

Naw, because you're already rich in the upper band. You don't need more fuel as the boost increases, you just want slightly higher boost pressure all across the board. Basically the same effect as larger injectors.
