well i finally got the pics back and scanned... they arent anything special.. just a baffle over the stock speaker hole and crap.. it works... but i wouldnt recommend using 3/4th mdf... it seems the panel part where the speaker is will not close all the way so i cant screw it in... im not too worried about this, you cant see it/tell... but ill probably fix it sometime.. either sanding down the baffle i have already or making a new one with some thinner material. anyway heres the pics..

ok um.. my car is a 94 Celica hatchback.. speakers are 6 1/2" Kicker DX60's... arent bad speakers at all... can be had on Ebay for less than $50 and i think on www.etronics.com .. i got mine for $38 shipped....the original speakers you see at the bottom were done.. the surround was really thin.. i also noticed that they were made by Fujitsu Ten(makes Eclipse)... too bad it isnt the same quality they put into Eclipse.. ohwell... factories only spend like $10 for the speakers they put in cars.. anyway i will tell you how i did this... i took the door panel off.. unplugged everything that was attached.(to note this was a little task. the little light at the bottom left on the door sucked to get off, but it isnt too hard i dont guess). next unplugged the plug to the factory speaker harness, moved the wires out of the way. unscrewed the speaker mounting piece, i had to pry the speaker from it(it was held on by some black gluey stuff), then i put a piece of MDF over the hole, turned it over and took a pencil and traced the outside ring(you want to cover the ring so you can screw it to the factory baffle deal), i then took the MDF off the factory speaker holder deal, put the speaker in the middle of the circle on the MDF piece, traced it, and cut the hole for the speaker, and trimmed the circle i made with the factory speaker holder.. this then abled me to cover the factory speaker holder(on the factory holder theres these little tube things or whatever you want to call them, i took a screw and screwed through it into the MDF as you can see on the outside of my baffle), i then wired the Kickers, put them in the MDF baffle, screwed them in, took the whole thing to the door, pulled the wire out(so i could wire it) screwed it back to the door, wired the wires, plugged the factory speaker plug in(first i plugged it all in before screwing it to the door again, to see if it worked, and it did ofcourse:) ), took the door panel, plugged everything back in, fitted in the window, put that little triangular piece(by the mirror) and put it back on(take a flat head screw driver, be careful, doesnt take too much) and then i screwed the panel back on.. i then tuned the cd player real quick just to see what i could work with, and then i was done.. this job was fairly easy.. just take your time... (this took me like 4 hours to do all together, it was my first time taking off the panels and crap, so:-p).. anyways.. the only thing different now is that the fronts are powered by a small old Autotek amp.. and i had to do the same thing to get the panel off, took out the speakers, wired them from the amp(not connected to the factory wires anymore) and made sure it all worked before i put the panels back on and all, and voi la... done and done..

anyway i hope you like the pics.. system sounds ok i guess... i hope this little "tutorial" helps some people maybe.... any questions just ask...blah blah blah..etc.. etc..etc.... and LaTeR

Oh yeah. If you want something thinner than MDF there are plastic adapters on ebay for $10 shipped per pair. Props for working with the materials at hand.

Pics work for me.

Yeah, the thickness of the material that you mount the speaker to is definitely a concern. I don't remember what I did. It was definitely a bigger project than I thought it would be starting out.
