Yes i did a search and did some research before i posted this one up. Its another annoying squeeking noise when im driving. it stops squeeking when im braking but it sounds like the car is winding down. Squeeks around 20mph or less in the rear. I just got new back rotors, mechanics said brakes have allot of beef on em so no need to change em. Im frustrated of going back to the mechanics every weekend and having them find it to no avail and making me feel stupid, even when i took them on a drive and of course no squeeks! I removed the hatch cover brackets since i noticed those were loose and made noises. I took out every plastic panel imaginable and removed every small piece laying around. Can anyone relate to this or am i just crazy. confused.gif

could it be that the brake pad is some how loose and is hitting the rotor cuasing it to warp and make noise then when i apply brakes it stops?

my car does the same annoying thing. I even changed the brake pads then it didn't do it for like the first week, but then started again. It happens when I brake from a low speed, but after driving for a while and then braking, I dont hear it anymore.

I was told that it's just how Toyota made the brakes before the 2000 models. I just think that's how the brakes are. Maybe if you change the brake pads to something other then stocked, it'll solve the problem. I was stupid and had my mechanic just change the brake pads, and he changed to a replacement factory brake pads, so I have the same problem as before. Since I paid for the brake pads, I'll just use it til it goes out. Dont wanna waste my money like that.

Yes there is...i just had this problem and was pissed becuase i sounded like a deush bag drivin down the street...but all i did was get new pads from advanced auto...they were about 90 bucks...they were the "Bendix import quites" I just got them put on yesterday the 12th and since thenthere have been absolutely no problems with squeaking what so ever!
And by the way how much have u guys spent on replacing your brakes? I got charged about $150 to have them put on...and i spent another 90 for the pads! Does this sound right?

Yea i know......i got ripped for labor on those brakes but oh well.....i guess ill just have to learn how to do it myself....Yes, LewFX i would change ur brake pads b/c it worked for me and also because as it is said that our brakes from the factory have issues with sqeeking....

so yes i would get some new brakes and make sure not to get the stock replacemnets...it said on the box that my brake pads were in that they were "oem" replacements which means that they were the stock brakes but they were the "quiets" which i had to pay extra for so as long as u dont get specifaclly oem brakes u will be fine!

Squeeking video

Heres an attempt to record this annoying noise. i held my camera as far as i could while driving! im only going 20mph or less and i hear it 95% of the time. its 6.6mbs mpg video. ive replaced bearings, rotors, brake pads...what else besides blleding brakes can this be!!!!!!! im going insane, luckily i can blast music to not hear it but its not cool to see other people say nice car and then it squeeks and squeels.

Did you check the e-brake? Maybe the brake has been engaged, and you didn't know about it, so now it's down to the metal, squeaking?
And do you have anti-chatter springs in the back still?

update on problem...okay well im back with good news...i took off rear tire and find a small squeel when i rotated rotor and it need a small squeel...took off rotor, sanded down inside rotor and brake shoes...put everything back...rotated tire, no squeel, yay right? well i drove it around the block, still another squeeling noise, back to the drawing board..i took a former mechanic who is my gf's bro-in-law and he stuck his head out the window as i drive around...said noise is coming from the front...get back...take off front tire...everything seemed okay until moved the metal clip thats on the caliper and holds brake pads seems to be rattling..., removed caliper, and put anti-squeek red stuff from crc, put some more on back of pads, put everything back on...drove around, little noise but not as loud...next is to find new or better clips and try that...but so far so good.
