The specs for the Euro 3SGE aren't right:-

3rd Gen Euro 3SGE 1995 on
Bore: 86mm
Strok: 86mm
Compression Ratio: 9.8:1
Displacement 2.0L
Valve Train:4v/cyl
HorsePower : 173hp@6800RPM
Torque 187NM@4800RPM

3rd Gen Jap 3SGE 1994-95
Bore: 86mm
Strok: 86mm
Compression Ratio: 9.8:1
Displacement 2.0L
Valve Train:4v/cyl
HorsePower : 178hp@6800RPM
Torque 187NM@4800RPM

or at least that's what I've read somewhere. Might need to confirm the RPM where the peak torque is developed though but if memory serves, what I have quoted is correct.

Hey all,

Does anybody knows the valve lift, mm - of the intake camshaft for JDM 3S-GE (3rd gen, from 93 to 12.97)???
It's part-number is 13501-88460, it's non-vvt-i

Also will be grateful, if someone also knows the valve lift value for:
a) 13501-88560 intake camshaft, was used on JDM 3S-GE after 12.97 (non-vvt-i)
b) 13501-79016 intake camshaft, was used on JDM 3S-GE of MR-2 from 1989 to 1991
c) 13501-74041 intake camshaft, was used on JDM 3S-GE of MR-2 from 1991

Thanks!

Hi All,
Pardon my ignorance. I've just taken possession of a toyota celica 96 ST204R hatchback. Here's a picture of a VERY similar looking engine. Can anyone tell me about it. Ignoring the tape around the exhausts and the foil near the air filter, does this all look original or are there modifications or upgrades here. (In plain simple English please as I'm new at this. Thanks.

the mods i can see is the intake, header, and the upper radiator hose has been split (probably for a coolant temp sensor adapter) and the lower rad hose has been replaced with a silicone one.
the engine is the stock 5sfe 2.2 liter economy engine.
