I hated the dialogue and acting between Anakin and Padme. It was just sooo lame/cheesy/stupid/dumb/fake. Reminded me of a Hindi love flick, only without the singing and dancing. Everything else is cheddar... =]

i didnt see the new one yet.
but for anyone who never saw any of the movie... you have to start out by renting the origninal 3. the newer ones are ok, but only the type of thing you will like unless you were a fan on the orignal movies. im not even a startwars fan, but the orignal moives are very good. Its a good story, it was ahead of its time when it came out 28 years ago.
What pisses me off, is when Lucas started changing things when they were rereleased. Like Greedo shooting first cuz he didnt want Solo looking like a cold blooded killer? WTF? I wouldnt have minded if he cleaned up some stuff but changing it altogether, meh. -------------------- |

I finally saw it last night...
WOW amazing film..well worth the $8.25 ( + $15 in refreshments  )At the part near the end when the mask drops onto anakin's (SP?) face and vader takes the first token "breath" a group of these (politically correct) african-americans sitting behind me started screaming and jumping around like (politically incorrect) monkeys...no comment

Nothing special...I suppose the original 3 are nothing special nowadays. However in 1977 it was stuff nobody has ever seen before. Way ahead of its time. The acting was never that good. I mean Harrison Ford was pretty good and sure Ben Kingsley was good but this ppl are nuts they think it should be oscar caliber performances. The new 3 contain so much CGI that they are on the cutting edge.
The acting has never been great in any Star Wars, but peoples expectations are too high. But they are visually amazing and the story is a great story. Some ppl just see 'oh its sci-fi how ghey' and dont see the story behind it. -------------------- |
