How do u get urself up everyday and keep going to ur job? I work 7:30-5pm M-F and I dont have a horrible job. Im a receptionist at a great civil design firm and make 13 an hour but I go to bed every night dreading the next day and I wake up in the morning mad that I have to go to work. I cant believe I have to look forward to this for the next 40 years. Am i the only one like this? What keeps u guys going? I try talk myself up when I get in the shower or when im getting in my car. I say to myself "Natalie its 8 hours at a sit down job, u have a great job and make good money."

it doesnt seem to work

Obviously i come from a different background. I havent had to work for anything. Ive had jobs since 16 but just started really working full time the past year but had a real job for the past 1.5 years. This is such a sad way to live...what a depressing feeling. I feel bad for my dad. He works so hard to support 3 adults (my mother, brother and myself) he gets paid and it goes right out his pocket as soon as it comes. Luckily I dont have many bills to pay but i cant imagine this life for hte next 40 years

I talk to you peoples, and drink energy drinks, but I am also here from 9am until whenever, usually 7pm sometimes until 11pm, I also call most of my own shots so it's not that bad for me.

just dont try to be like the rest of the people...try something new dont just settle for second best go for #1.. dont settle and say oh i guess im ok with wut i have ..nooo strive alwasys to be better...my dad worked his butt off to get me and my sisters where we are today but we put in the effort as well..sometimes its our parents and wut they have achieved that inspire us to wake up every morning and go out into the world and do soemthing withourselves...also dont let others tell u ur too young to do this and that ... i just turned 20 this year and i am a REAL ESTATE AGENT and a full time student biggrin.gif

also remmeber ur job is temporarily ur probably in school so that is your real focus...once u finish hopefully u wont feel so bad and if u dont like the 8 hour a day routine like me then take a risk and start ur own business

hmmm a lot of coffee?

my job isnt that bad, I work 11-5 everyday b/c there is a secretary that comes in in the morning. But, like this week, since we have a large case that she can't handle because shes a moron I will work 9-5. Then my classes every other weekend 9-5, but honestly its not that bad I like what i do.

For me, its just making the best of it, I work at Circuitcity , for now, But i just try an have fun. Im the best seller the store has , so im going to ask for a rasie, well prolly today. But I make the best of it, I dont want to stay here, but i do what i want and have fun. I also know that if i dont do anything i will have a promising career here making pretty good money.

But for real, find a job you like, that you look forward to going to every day, even if you dont make the same pay, atleast your happy.

Im in school for architexture, I love it, but Im not sure if i see my self doing that 40 hours a week every year of my life, i want to do somthing around and with cars and stuff.. but who knows im still young.

Nat, you are in what the call a "dead end job".

i never realized what that ment untill my last job. i used to see those comercials on tv and think that by ded end job, they mean a bad or low paying job...nope.

i worked there for 4 years doing the same thing that i did when i 1st started. the work was ok, and the money was good, but there was really no way to get a head. i used to hate going there everyday, but at the same time i couldnt find a specific reason why i hated the job.

This is going to sound kind of silly, but since I have nothing else, I work and do everything so I can do stuff to my car, and so I can do things with friends. I work solely for money to pay my bills, and that actually keeps me going. Knowing that I am being a responsible person is a great feeling, I don't have anything that is given to me except a roof over my head (which can be considered a big thing). I pay for everything else. I have a great job with a lot of opportunities to move forward and to move up, and that is what makes me go to school all the time. The opportunity to move up in a company and to feel appreciated goes a really long way, thats why I work for who I do. It is the best company in the world in my eyes, I honestly feel like i have about 75 moms at my work and I know every single person in my department.

Honestly if I were you Natalie, I would find a new job where you feel appreciated and can feel good about going to every day. Or find a new hobby to keep you busy, you have to find something to get you through the day, because without it, your life will be miserable.

Good luck, but remember that you are never alone.

I cant think of anything else at my age right now that i would rather do than be a receptionist. Theres no way i would work retail. I cant give up the money either! i need to get out of debt which I cant seem to do right now with crap happening to my car and what not. But ive gotten myself 1,000 dollars less in the past 6 months than i have in the past 2 years almost.

I just wish I could travel as part as my job. All the traveling I get to do is over to the storage units a few blocks away and lift some heavy boxes and rolls of plans. Im thankful i have the job i do at my age though

I myself have it very easy...dont have to pay car insurance dont have to pay rent I can get myself outta paying for food if i make sure im getting food when my parents go to the store or something. I only need to pay for my social life and that even gets paid for when im broke. oh and i gotta pay my cell bill (SUPER aka ERIK - ull be happy to know that ive lowered it by 200 bucks a month!) along with some credit card debt and some other small debt

thats exactly it man. you have to find, or atleast be willing to look, for something that you enjoy doing. I freely admit I'm a lazy person but there are certain things that make me work hard out of sheer enjoyment in doing them. I know I'll ultimately have to work in a field I enjoy if I ever want to be happy or successful

I enjoy my job. Its pretty easy for me to go to work, eventually I figure I'll have job addiction, the point you're doing exactly what you want to do 24/7 so you work 80 hours a week.

ahhh, guess my family, love life and hobbies (celica) are going to go down the tube when that happens.

No offence Nat but that pisses me off, you sound like my older sister who is spoiled by my parents, and she doesnt have a job, but she gets social security and disability and my parents still pay for everthing. I really hate that, i mean its awsome for you and all but I guess because i have to live with someone who mooches off my parents it seems unfair to me, but like i said before no offence to you i just needed to rant about it.
