How hard is it to get into a celica st with swapping in a 4age 20v blacktop, also any real advantages to it? or is the stock st tranny good enough

The C-52/56 bolts right in and works perfectly with the cables and such. The C-60 six-speed tranny found as an option in the AE111 would require some changes to the shift linkage setup I think.

Um, unless your SERIOUSLY building the 7afe, i doubt there is much advantage to swappin out the tranny. I guess in theory you could bolt up a e58, which comes stock on the ae101 4agze (lsd). But if your gonna go to the trouble of that you may as well swap. The biggest thing w/ the e58 is gonna be axles, but that can be solved with custom axles (where I'm at now).

FAQdaWorld, what are you having to do with axles? I remember a couple of years back reading that the E-series inner CV joints would work on the C52 shafts, but my info is outdated and from another country at best, false at worst.

I've got an E-51 sitting here in storage, I need to see if it has LSD.

If its an e51 than the answer is no. if the tranny designation ends in 3, or 8 then it has lsd. (e53, e58, etc...)

The biggest problem i had was finding another inner cv joint for an e series, which I only recently started worrying about cuz we finally got it running.

Should have it mobile within a month or two...
