Alright, i'm as anti-Dodge as it comes, except for the muscle cars, since the mid eighties Dodge has been notorious for throwing crap on the scene i.e. Aries, Caravelle, Caravan, Neon, etc. not to say they're all crap but I do recall that for a long time (until the mid '90s) Chrysler didn't even put a clearcoat on their paint jobs, my 1996 Eagle Talon didn't have one and it was a special edition color, and Caravans were notorious for the paint peeling. Dodge also puts out the s***iest transmission of the big three, i've had a '97, '99, '03 Ram 4x4's have to get the transmissions rebuilt after 70,000 miles, not to mention some of the DSM's weak tranny (for the power capability of the motor). I think of all the Chrysler products i've owned the only one that seems to have held up is my '81 work van, and it's got an old school 360 in it. My point behind hating Dodge is they send out a lot of low quality work and until recently the Magnum 360 couldn't even hang with the Ford Triton 4.8 or Chevy 350 Vortec on power or gas mileage, i've owned all three and the Dodge was the worst, even the new "HEMI" isn't even a true HEMI.

Now on to subject the Caravan sucks regardless, cool options, bad quality, but he should have filed a lemon report (if possible in Canada). I can tell that a lot of people posting have never worked at a dealership, yes the dealership covers the warranty repairs, no the dealership is not responsible if the vehicle is a lemon (if you find a finger tip in your chili will you want to talk to the restaurant or the head office?). Dealerships buy their vehicles from the manufacturers and sell them, if the vehicle is a lemon then they file a report to the manufacturer and have the vehicle shipped back and repaired or replaced. A dealership is only resposible for incentive warranties not manufacturer warranties, if a dealership said they'll give an extra year on that 2 year warranty then it's the dealerships problem. A lot of Ford dealerships quit selling Saleens because Saleen wouldn't hold their end of the warranty, if a dealership fixes a car for a manufacturer problem they are credited for the parts and labor involved to fix that mistake, so yes the dealership sinks time into it but why do they care because they're being paid by the manufacturer for it. If I was that guy I would sue for any loss and a new vehicle, but not $100,000 he's the one that chose to buy it. I wouldn't lose a hundred grand worth of stuff over a POS Caravan anyway, i'd get me a new Toyota, or at least a moped with a trailer before it went that far, lol.

BTW: The old crank style sunroof was notorious for leaking also. I also understand the demands but the $100,000 is covered by the rest of the demands, and what about the wages, (he sounded like being payed for the time he put into fighting them not the time taken from work) I don't ask Wal-Mart to pay me for every minute I stand in line because the cashier can't figure out what a pack of cigarettes are. Missing pocket PC is understandable, but without proof he's SOL. Time for buiding the website is funny, hey Coomer you going to sue us for the time it takes to maintain this site, j/k.

Yeah Chevy actually mastered the HEMI, on the exception they used the wedge port design so it wasn't a true one either. I agree on some points like the guy going for the manufacturer, but some of his demands are a little extreme, it's not like he got a concussion because the power lift gate failed, it was a leak, duct tape it, lol.

yeah i agree with you darksecret about most of that, not all dodges are **** though. Iv seen good quality ones and my friends dads caravan is an amazingly built car. He has over 140000 miles on it. Interior isnt worn, paint is perfect, no major problems, and still running strong as hell.

not really cause this gets the word out....right now im reading all the detailed history...and this is really nasty. some parts i wouldnt agree with him, but this dealership is sad. it really wouldnt be hard for chysler to meet his needs either, theyre not that much for a multi billion dollar company

I can't figure out how shade tree mechanics can build a 500 hp V8 in a month by themselves and it takes a dealership full of trained mechanics 4 months to find a leak and fix it, look at the friggin roof rack it's the most likley candidate.
