Ok so I work 14 miles from home and im not sure if i have enough gas to get home. Right now im right under the 1/4 line but i know as soon as i go down a big hill it will go straight down and put my gas light on. There are no gas stations around till i get over the bridge. I just dont wanna stall on the bridge cuz its a 2 lane bridge with no shoulders and i dont wanna be on the news! :-P

Should i be alright?? and even if i get to a gas station i only have 1.35 on me!

HAHA, my gas light in my Camry was on 2 days ago. Finally filled up when I found a cheap station, ($2.19). Your fine after the light goes on. And you have 3 gallons left WHEN the light STAYS ON. If it flashes on and off, you actually have a bit more. When you fill the car up tonight, see how many gallons you put in, and compare it to the size of the tank. smile.gif

its not good to keep the gas low all the time. the fuel pump need fuel in the tank because thats how it cools the pump. so, you if run low all the time, you may fry your fuel pump.

Listen to lagos folks, my brother just went through this with his Chevy Blazer a couple weeks ago, and it set him back over $100 if I remember correctly. It'd save you more money to go out of your way to keep above 1/4 tank, so do it!

I hoard my extra money in my glove box and then by the time my gas light comes on (or when I hit 1/4 tank) I usually ahve enough to fill the entire tank up. I usually don't put just 5 here or 10 there...it always seems to go quicker, I don't know smile.gif

I use 3/4 tank of gas every week, or more. I usually fill her up every sunday, and then I have 1/4 left of the tank when I do. Money for gas have never been a problem. Even though we have to pay like 1.5$ for one litre. Not sure how much that is is gallons. But it's not much.. Gas prices suck bigtime here in Norway, like most other things.
