I was thinking....and sometimes thats scary, I know! But I think it might be something to look into to create a 3S-GTE specific forum where any and all information, questions, diagrams, pictures, etc. concerning the 3S-GTE and the swap could be designated to.

Whadaya guys think?

it may be advantagious to break up the performance forum into 7AFE, 5SFE, and 3SG(T)E subforums, then maybe 4AG(Z)E if and when it becomes more necessary... however the forum has always had the feel of not wanting to split its members into such defined groups, thats one of the reasons we never did GT or ST subforums, or regional forums on the board, so in keeping tradition with that i dont think it would happen, there is of course advantages and disadvantages of doing things that way, but i know coomer and the rest of us have kind of felt it would segregate things a little too much going that route.

It isn't a bad idea really. But I'm with Tim. I would hate to see elitist attitudes arising.
I also think the 3SGTE subforum would be like: "WHERE DID U GET UR 3S AND HOW MUCH?!1" to be quite honest with you.

Thats cool, the reason I suggested it was because after starting my rebuild and searching for answers to some questions that have come up, I just thought that it might be a little easier to search in a 3SGTE specific subforum. But I understand now why that might not have been done yet, if ever. Anyhow, it was just a thought.

i dont think 3sge/5sfe/whatever should be broken up as there isnt a whole lot of complication

i believe 3sgte is a mystery and there is SO much out there that is lost because of threads like "how do i install my washer noZzzzLes!!11"

hence it deserves its own forum

"WHERE DID U GET UR 3S AND HOW MUCH?!1"

lol, story of my life!

not to direct people away from this site or anything, but i normally got to the 3sgte section at mr2oc.com for any techy motor specific stuff. there is a huge base of 3sgte owners that you can learn a lot from.

We have an engine/transmition forum already. What more do you want? The 3stge don't come in American 6gens, and most of the members here are American. I don't think there is a demand for it. Part of the beauty of this site is it's simpleness, and the fact that it looks clean.

not to mention how it would be a breading ground for posts about how much the swap "sucks" and is "not original" from people who dont know what they hell they are talking about

It was only a suggestion. A lot of you guys who have performed the swap seem very knowledgeable about the swap. I figured it would be a beneficial opportunity for those who are pondering such a project into their 6th gens. The fact that Americans kind of dominate this forum would be a stronger reason to add such a topic. This could be a more indepth and detailed step-by-step forum that is designed to answer the most technical questions for an imported motor into an American N/A vehicle. Sorry for such an obsurd suggestion...
