1)remove the back wheels

2)pry the drums off
some times there is a philps screw holding the drum on.. some times not..

3) inspect the drum.. and see if there is a ledge on the inside of the drum.. replace or get the drum turned if needed. ( caution do not inhale the brake dust!!)

4) remove the springs at the bottom of the brake system and this should release the drum pads

5) remove this screw device at the bottom of the system. its like this extender thing; You need to retract it together. you should be able to tell what this is. Its the only thing that has threads on both sides and a knotched quarter thing at the center..

6) install new pads and springs..

7) install drum and repeat what you did on the other side of the car

8) after both the drums have been changed.. stomp on the brakes several times so the drums can adjust it self to the new pads.

I would be carefull about changing drum pads. they are not easy to do and require some skill.

good luck.

Option B: buy a Haynes or Chilton's manual for a similar guide with pictures and torque specifications as necessary.

Option C: Screw the brake drums and shoes and do a rear disc conversion.

I tryed doing this with the manuals and i found them very confusing.

My suggestion would be to take of both rear wheels and drums and use one side for reference. Worked perfect for me smile.gif
