ok, i got my celi in april of last year. a few months later, one of my good friends gets a '94 GT. thats cool, hes a good friend and has a sweet car with me. about 4 months ago, someone else i kind of hang out with gets a '94 GT. this isnt good because he hasnt even driven it yet and has riced the **** out of it (42 different colors, body kit with steelies and no hubcaps, blue sticker interior dash kit, etc.). that kind of made me mad, but then another 6gs went to the biggest douche bag in missouri. the worst part is that he thinks hes cool. im just starting to get pissed that a lot of people nobody likes is getting my car. my car is being looked at by other people like a civic now, as if it's not even rare or exotic or anything. its just a car. i hope the last 2 that got the car wreck it very soon but arent hurt biggrin.gif.

Yeah, why would you want a 6GC to be wrecked? Anyway, it's just time for you to put the bar up another step so that you can stand apart from the rest.

Word.

You're looking at this the wrong way. It gives you the opportunity to make yours look even better when it's compared to the ricey ones. smile.gif

You know, the guy does have a point. Take Honda Civics for example. Not all Civics are ricers, a lot are good cars. But they carry a very negative connotation in the modifying world. Same as how 240's are getting now, and some others. I thought our cars carried a certain prestige because they were rarely very "riced", and always done right. If to many start getting this half way modifying treatment, it could give the car a bad name.

I don't think it can get as bad as the Civics though because there aren't as many Celicas to begin with. And most of the 240s I've seen weren't riced too badly...

raven, about raising the bar. its kind of hard to do when you work at a grocery store bagging groceries for $80/week while paying car payments, insurance, and life. ive been putting every penny of extra money into my car. the 2nd last one to get the 6gc was given $3000 from his mom to put into his car and puts on underglo, blue sticker dash trim, some other worthless crap, and a bodykit (not enough money to paint it hence the many colors). im sorry but im basically just kind of mad he spent the money on that stuff instead of better things and the fact that im the only one that has to actually work for the car and still comes up short. again, im sorry for bringing this stupid **** up, but i just have to let some frustration out.

Ive noticed mpre and more 6gc popping up in my area. Most are crappy - old unkept chipped paint ones. Theres a purple one with dual exhaust thats driven by someones mom. Thats prob the only one thats looked decent in the area except for the few stock convertables in the richer area. Mine still stands out among them all. Many think my car is a supra even though the front is totally diff. It must be the spoiler.

I dunno, I like seeing other Celicas around, gives me a sense of comraderie biggrin.gif. Whenever I drive past another 6th gen I give them a slight nod, even though usually they're not paying attention or even care.

Also, you'll naturally notice more and more celicas, which is not necessarily due to more celicas popping up but because of your growing familiarity with the celica, you notice them around more often because the familiarity allows the brain to recognise them more easily. (I've spotted a silver GT-FOUR about 80 m away just from seeing the spoiler and rear quarter panel while turning my head to speak to a mate.) This process tends to be especially true when you first get acquainted; I certainly started to notice a good number of 6gcs once I got into Celicas. I think there's a name or description of this neural process, but can't for the life of me remember what it is.
