Hey guys! So I went onto ebay and purchased 2x 12" alpine type S subs (tight budget) for 160 shipped. I also have a 800 watt MA Audio amp i bought from my friend.
Now it's time to build a box Has anyone here made their own sub box? If so, what materials did you use, what design and dimensions did you use? Any help would be appreciated as I plan to get this project off the ground by tomorow, thanks guys!! -------------------- Speeding is only Illegal...

you pretty much have 2 main material options
MDF board (heavy) or fiberglass (light) mdf is easier to use however look on apline's site for the needed dimensions of the box and then work from that! |

Yeah, you need to find volume of the box.
I used Advantec flooring material, and made individual boxes for my L7's... Heres an inventor version, scaled down: Installed, a rough cell pic: -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

uh... right... anyway.... use 3/4th" MDF... build a box to the subs' specs.. are your subs dual 2 ohm or 4ohm? and whats the rms on that amp?
Meterials: 3/4" MDF 1 1/2" - 2" deck screws(go in easier) silicone or liquid nails to seal the box up.(use latex gloves... can get messy and doesnt come off easy) a drill(to pre-drill and to drill the screws in) Jigsaw (to cut the holes for the subs, can be used to make the cuts) circular saw(can also be used to make cuts) you can pick up MDF at Lowes, Home Depot, places like that.., they can also cut it for you. and take your time. -------------------- i want a stereo so loud, it blows womens clothes off.

# top-mount depth: 6-1/4"
# sealed box volume: 0.85-1.5 cubic feet # ported box volume: 1.25-2.0 cubic feet There is the pertinent information. You'll need to decide ported or sealed for your enclosure.. Then plan how big you want it in your celi, and where... Make sure when you design it, you account for the thickness of the material for inside volume. Then, find area of material, and buy it... Measure carefully, and cut your parts... Then glue/silicone, clamp, and screw it together. If its large, you will want to reinforce it, especially if your woodwork isn't perfect. -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.
