I didnt get the manual for my car when I bought it, the previous owner decided he wanted to be an ass and keep it, but I am trying to figure out my fuel mileage, and to do so I need to kno how big our tanks are. I got about 364 miles until I hit 1/4 left.. so if anyone can tell me how big they are that would be great. thanks

Matt

the gauges arent accurate,

fill ur tank up but dont top off

drive until u fill up next, divide the number of miles u put on in that period by the numbner of gallons u put in ... thats ur gas mileage

also our tanks ar 15.9 well at least for the gt

Why do you need tank size? Just fill up each time, and go by the more accurate gas readout...

you need tank size because you cant divide your mileage into anything else. You divide mileage by tank size.. hence miles per gallon

if you divide milage by tank size your not getting you mpg. you can't use every bit of gas in your tank, well not and keep driving anyways.

you have to divide into how many gallons you put in, like damdirtyapes said

I get from 350-400 miles on one tank. Varying back and forth based on my driving. Our tanks are to my knowledge 50 litres, and I have no idea how much that is in gallons.. Probably about 16 as several people have said already.

Fill the tank all the way up, drive around and know how far you drive. Go back and fill up the tank all the way again, and use the amount used and the lenght of your driving in between fill ups to calculate how much gas you use. This number will of course change based on your driving and also if you drive around town or on the highway, the numbers should be way different.

Okay, I've ran my tank almost completely empty ( or so I thought), which was well after the low fuel light and definitely right next to E but when I fill up I've never put more than 13 gallons in the car. Can my guage be that far off? I've gotten 330 miles to about 12.x gallons. Or is it possible my ST coupe has a smaller tank?

we all have the same size tanks. 330 on 12.x gallons ? do a tune up and check your O2 sensors, I get at least 400 on 12 gallons, as a matter of fact, I just filled up last night - 411 miles and I put in 11.776 gallons = 34.9 mpg

I have a 68 litre tank, I'm doing well if I get 300miles out of it.

Oh, and I'm paying around $1.80.

A litre.

I've been tuned up recently and have new O2 sensors. Any other suggestions? I do both highway driving about 15-20 miles total every day and stop and go about 5-10 miles but quite a few small hills and stop and go often on the highway. Do you think it's just driving style? I don't really push it that hard.

confused.gif ok guys.... WTF is going on here?! I'm only getting about 280 miles per tank!!!! I just bought new spark plugs which I'm about to install... Do you think I'm going to notice a BIG difference if I change the O2 sensors?? I'm a rough driver, but I really don't think my mileage should be THAT bad! frown.gif

most people will find better gas mileage above 1/2 tank. I get about 280 until I hit half a tank.. then after 1/2 a tank something with the pressure inside the tank just you down to like 100-120 miles on that last 1/2 tank... strange
