Ok what are the best speakers for our cars? I'm looking to upgrade I don't want to run an amp, I just want good clean sound, I mostly listen to alternative and rock so as long as it has ok bass I will be happy.

"Ok what are the best speakers for our cars?" well theres no such thing... its up to your ears... you will get many opinions... check out the other car audio threads... if you want the best sound you would want a component set... ofcoursed amped.. but i have some Kicker DX60's which you can get cheap on Ebay and i think at www.etronics.com .. they sound awesome... but they are amped.. sounded good on the Alpine cd player too before they were amped... also the other car audio threads ive replied too offer MANY MANY brands to look at.

Yeah, I think a lot of it is subject to personal opinion, but I got a lot of help from this forum: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/3757.html

focal is upwards of $800/pair. i have heard them (9 focal speakers in 1 car) and they sounded great. i just dont think they're worth the money unless you have plenty of it. there are 4 audio stores around me, and to me it sounded like by far the best bang for the buck is eclipse. i thought they sounded great and were only $130/pair, but they werent components. if you want great sound, get some decent components and amp them.

Infinitys sound great even when not amped and running from a stock HU. Go listen to them at circuit city or goodguys then buy them from sounddomain.com.
