I already searche the entire forum but couldn't get exact answers to my questions. Okay, after some thinking, the 7A-FE is slow as f... I raced my brothers tC and got spanked. I even forgot how to spell slow last night after the race. Anyway, the 3S-GTE is too expensive to swap into my stupid ST. Why didn't I get the GT??? I wish I knew the answer to that too. So its either the 4A-GE Silvertop, Blacktop, or Supercharged. If I'm not mistaking, the SC has the most HP and a comp. ratio of 8.9. I think it's 170HP(the AE101). The AE111(Blacktop) has 165HP. comp ratio I thik is 11. NICE! now, thats a 5hp difference, and the blacktop is N/A. I know the SC is 16V and the others are 20. So I dont think its worth it spending about $1,000 more for a GZE here in Miami when I'm only getting 5 more HP and the compression is still low. EVERYONE KEEP IN MIND I DONT KNOW SMACK ABOUT MECHANICS OR ENGINES(you can probably tell). I'm just talking specs here. The thing is, I've heard on here that the silvertop is better for forced induction. On club4ag.com, the blacktop seems to be stronger in all ways possible... Polished port, and crap like that... so why is the silvertop better for forced induction? i would think the blacktop is better for that because of the higher comp. im guessing the internals are stronger to handle the higher compression. Please help. O yea, one more question...does the blacktop have the 4-throttle thing. it looks cool. the only reason i would get the gze is because it sounds cool. the little supercharger whistle thing and to say i got a SC. so yea, whats the best engine to put in. I really want the blacktop because spec-wise, it seems stronger than the silvertop and if the gze wasnt supercharged, the blacktop would be the fastest. im not planning to turbo or anything any time soon. just small performance mods. intake, headers, exhaust. little things for now. thanks! sorry for any of the dumb questions here... and if you find yourself asking "wtf is this kid talking about?"...just read the capitalized statement above.

What do you want to do with the car?
The silvertop is far stronger than the blacktop because it has heavier, stronger internals, but the 4A-GZE is the strongest motor for boost in stock form. And the 4A-GZE is far torquier than the 4A-GE. You have a ton of research to do. There's info everywhere...you just need to search. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I could swear I've gone over this before... but OK...
Silvertop and 4AGZE have nearly identical bottom-ends. They are as strong as one another. Blacktop's internals are lightened, so it's not quite as strong as the silvertop or 4AGZ, but it's still plently stronger than a 7A or something. The problem with boosting the blacktop, as with the silvertop, is their high compression (black with 11, silver with 10:5). High compression is great for an n/a engine, but is a terrible headache for a forced induction engine. This is the part you don't quite get. Umm... I've gone over that in detail before also... but I don't remember where/when. Just believe me when I say, lower compression makes it a LOT easier to boost. If you're looking for quick straight-line acceleration, the 4AGZE is probably gonna win. The 4AGZE is actually a lot cheaper than the Blacktop 20V, at least around here, and can make more power easier because it's forced induct. The blacktop does have individual throttle bodies (4-throttle, ITBs), and it's MAP sensored to boot, so you can make some additional power with velocity stacks or something. IMO, nothing beats the sound of ITBs at wide open throttle. Not the whine of a supercharger, not the sizzle of a turbo... ITBs is the sh!t and it's bloody loud running open. In the end... for simple mods and power, the 4AGZE will be the best. For a pure n/a motor with great throttle response, blacktop is better. Silvertop can land between the two... but all of the engines are great. Blacktop and silvertop won't make as much power from simple bolt-ons... unlike the 4AGZE. There are various overdrive pullies for the 4AGZE that increases boost, along with many many different engine parts. The 20V is extremely lacking in performance parts... and it's more of an enthusiast motor than a power engine. If you're looking for high power... 20V isn't the best first choice. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

Awesome. So the GZE it is. Either that or the Silvertop if I'm running low on cash when the 7A blows up from the nitrous. Basically, either engine will woop the crap out of my brother's tC. I read somewhere that you can change the pulley on the SC to some other one. Don't quote me. I think Cusco or Nevo make a pulley that boosts you 14 psi instead of the stock 8. So the GZE has the strongest internals out of all the 4A's?
