Why did Vin Diesel make such a fuss about the Supra and take it, when he ended up with a Camaro.

After the credits, they show him driving through the desert in what looks to be a '69 Camaro, probably a Chevelle I can't remember it's been a while.

another thing in the movie.. HOW MANY GEARS DO THOSE CARS HAVE???? I swear to god they shift going down the highway like 10 times.. last time I checked Mitsu's dont have 10 gears..

i think they did a lot of downshifting, which is how all the pro racers do i guess

I don't think they need to downshift in a straight line, and even autocross doesn't downshift as much as they did in that movie.

I guess I need to rent these movies again. I heard about a third one coming out taking place in Japan, yeah they'll probably be drifting instead of drag or autocross since that's the "popular" thing right now.

I could be wrong I haven't seen that movie in a while, I thought it might have been an MR2, either way it wasn't a Prelude, and yes they do say he drove a Prelude. I liked them for movies, but they were too "Charlies' Angels" and made every 16 year old kid slap a trash can under his 4 door '86 Honda Civic and try to race with it. I remember before both of those movies, we use to go out on a highway the city was building, maybe 20 cars would show and everybody knew eachother, this movie comes out and that 20 jumps to 75, then over a hundred. I like them because they opened up the import market, but the wrong (Autozone) companies jumped on the bandwagon.

BTW if the Supra was heavier then how come the Skylive jumped the Supra and landed without a scratch. I love movie magic but to many people out there take this stuff seriously and think some of these cars can do this, yes the Skyline can drift but I believe they used a RWD version to make it slide more.

they disabled the awd and made it rwd for the movie..why idk..awd=awsome wheel drive rolleyes.gif

Yeah I remember it was something they did to make it RWD, but now you got kids in Evos and STis trying to drift them when they were designed to rally, just think how much stress goes on those drivetrains while drifting.

I meant asphalt stress stress, on dirt it's a whole other thing trust me I use to go off roading and the suspension is more important that is why the Evo drivetrain is only good for about 600 hp (seriously the highest i've ever seen was 714 whp and it had some decent upgrades on the drivetrain), double clutching hasn't been required in a vehicle in about 40 years.
