1979 Corvette Stingray. This particular car is the last one produced in 1979, so it has added value. He plans on rebuilding the entire car, including the engine. The disappointment, its a V8, and its only pushing out 225hp. My 3s will be pushing more than that so its kinda alot of engine for a lil bit of power (for that size).

The guy he bought it from gave him a 350cc that he was thinking about putting in, but it would ruin the fact that its the last one made in 1979. so who knows. But you gotta start somewhere.

Well i think of it this way, if you can get 700hp out of a 4cyl, if you put that much work into a V8 your on your way to the moon.

Remember this v8 is from 1979, show me a 4 cylinder that can push 225 hp from around that time, also I think a 6 cylinder is the best, not too big not too small and if turbo'ed is a monster!

you can have a light car pushing 250 HP like a 3sgte then you have a v8 pushing 225 that is usually relatively heavy..*sigh*

But you have to remember that the body is fiberglass, thus its a bit lighter than other cars of its era. the heaviest part of that car is the drivetrain, but its still got nice power wink.gif

Yeah those are sweet, somebody parks their brown one in the parking lot where I work every day, and it looks just like that one. I've always loved corvettes, my dad and I were gonna get one and restore it but ended up on the 68 camaro instead.

If your a person who loves cars, then you love all cars, except Kia's and the other sh*tboxes around, you may not like a 69 Camaro or Firebird, but u better respect it, cuz your not going to find raw power like that anywhere else.

Couldnt agree more with you......i would love to have something with the raw power and sound of a domestic V-8.

very sweet. my dad is thinking about a new project car too. a 97 stang GT vert 5spd, with a 2003 mach1 engine transplant, cobra-R sidepipes, and MRT components, would be VERY cool if it would materialize.
