On the website it says it requires hood pins, does it really? Does any one have this hood on their car? Thanks

it does not
they say hood pins to make it safe for speeds over 150, although since it uses stock latch it should be fine as is anyways.

it's like "off road use only" type of deal

ya, i have the c-one hood, i've hit 110 with no problem. Most the time you wont need 2 drive that fast, so it should be good. Hood pins do look kinda cool, but kinda ricey to me, especially if there not nessasary

Can someone post a picture of a hood with pins? I'm not sure if I know what those pins are.. That is, I think I know, but then again I could be wrong.

How does those work? Are they like a two piece assembly that goes one below and one on top of the hood.. And then they are connected like this:

CODE

      |
   ---|---
    | | |
    |   |

The -- being the hood.. and the middle line being like a pin, that goes through the hood and down into the other part of the "hood pins" below the hood.. Holding it in place.

Why can't you just use the stock assembly? Move it from a stock hood and install on the aftermarket hood.

you can use the stock assembly, hood pins are not required. I say leave em off, I think it looks better clean, and I dont like 2 drill into things.

nope

its basically a bolt
bolted to the frame of the car that comes out through the hood
then the pin is attached to the hood and slides into the bolt

take sum time look online if you see a picture of a hood pin kit
you'll understand

hood pins are fugo, leave em on cars that NEED them only, most CF hoods, you don't.
