Is there any difference between the stock celica alloy rims on the 94-96 models and the 97-99 models?

It seems to me that the later models stock rims are alot darker and more shiny than the earlier models.

Around here about 80% of the 97-99 models are red (same as mine) and most of the other colours I see are 94-96. The later models rims definately 'look' darker, but are they? or could it just be that they look darker on the red cars?

This has been driving me nuts... If someone could explain that would be nice. smile.gif

So.. Toyota outsourced the stock rims?

but they both look very similar?

How does that work? How do you tell the difference?

lol, I am just curious.

this may not help but i think that they look the same. one picure just has more light.

most older celicas 94 95 and some 96 don't come with alloy rims. I BELIEVE not for sure but believe that most early celica ST's did not come with alloys until 96 or 97. pretty much all gt's came with alloys unless you didn't want them when you got the car from a dealer. And to the people that say that the have Enkei's stock. Then why doesn't anyone else have those? I think that the person that had the car before you must've bought those. Maybe not. Just my .02

They are definitely different, my 97 came with the dark spokes and the face polished like the 2nd pic, the others are either natural aluminum or silver, all the same color. the wheels are physically identical, they just painted the spokes grey and polished the face on some models, (found this out the hard way when I bought a used set. ended up reselling them) the places I have look at on the web list either for 94-99, so I think it was an option from Toyota, my window sticker listed something about alloys being part of sport package. Since you mentioned it, I'm still looking for 1 or 2 of the polished ones, got some curb rash on the lip on one of mine .
