i have a stage 2 port and polish with port match ,crower 272 in and ex cams, hks cam gears , TRD springs and retainers also hoping for good gain at the dyno from what i have heard and depending on the tuning you can get 50+ horse and about 30- 38 of that to the ground or more -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

Dude when dealing with cam profile and port and polish it's a toss up since you have more choices than the turbo market. You can go with a tested method similar to nik's but if you want to go custom find as many formulas on lift, duration, cfm's, and cam profiles as you can it will make your decision more precise and probably net more gains since most premade cams are generalized.

he's boosting?
i didn't know that, thought he was just NA power w/ his SSIII and overlapping can always turn into prob. but that's how the high-performance cams do i say go for it -------------------- |

Whip in some 280+ duration cams for intake and exhaust and let it ride. are those cars map based by chance? |

QUOTE(x_itchy_b_x @ Jun 15, 2005 - 2:53 AM) i hear us 5sfe guys can use shimless s2000 springs right? I don't know who made this claim first, or whether the information was just randomly passed along... but the S2000's F20C doesn't even use buckets like the 5SFE does. The S2000 uses rockers and there is ZERO ZERO ZERO chance of ever using it in a Toyota head, cause nearly all Toyota DOHC heads use buckets either with inner shims or over bucket shims. Anyway... camshafts and tuning is what makes or breaks a good successful n/a tune. Camshafts are NOT a bolt-on and instant power sort of thing... but they can make upwards of 20-50 or more horsepower with good tuning (and an agressive profile). And maikl isn't boosting... he's n/a with a BEAMS redtop... ;] Fallen: I believe only a few Toyotas were MAP based twords the end of 97. I know the 97+ Camry's are MAF, the 2000 Corollas were changed over to MAF from MAP in the 98-99 models, and the Taco Trucks were MAF... Since the SSIII is a late model addition, I think they are most likely MAF... like the RS200 BEAMS Altezza... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
1995 AT200 Celica ST: stocked out daily driver... 1984 AE86 Corolla GT-SR5: silvertop 20V 4AGE project car jacked up with goodies... 1991 SW2x MR2 n/a: bare bones hardtop model soon to be... |

I actually agree with Kwanza if the S2000 springs were actually able to be used it would be all over this site and the Celica uses buckets not rockers. I have told anybody that wants to do a N/A upgrade cams are the most important aspect, your best bet is to do the other mods first and get a custom grind for your set up and if you cange the set up enough you'll have to get a new grind so make sure it's what you want to do before sinking the money into it. |
