Ok I'm collecting parts for my swap and I need to know what mounts I need to use.
I am using the e153 transmission, 2nd gen 3sgte, the gt shift cables, mr2 inner axles, st185 outer axles. What motor mounts do I need? Do I still need the axle bracket and bearing? |

i believe its mr2 or gt mounts and you have to cut the transmission mount off the frame and reweld it farther back. that part im sure about.

I thought about it but the gt tranny won't hold up for more than like 250 hp, and either way I am going to be getting a new tranny than why not be doing it right.

I don't mean to be a d1ck, but people that haven't done this swap should not make a statement and then say " THAT PART I KNOW FOR SURE". You're wrong. Dude, if you're gonna do the swap, listen up cause this is what you need. Passeger side motor mount (insulator) from a 6th gen GT. Front side motor mount (insulator) and motor mount bracket from a 94-99 GT4 Rear motor mount (insulator) and motor mount bracket from a 94-99 GT4 Driver side motor mount (insulator) and motor mount bracket from a 94-99 GT4 I have a 94 Celica ST with a second gen 3sgte and using a 91 MR2 Tranny (E153). Here are the part #s for the motor mounts and brackets. You can get them from Champion Toyota and they will special order them for you from Japan. (713)943-7010 Direct Parts Line 12361-74340.......... Insulator.......... $47.10 12371-74440.......... Insulator.......... $88.00 12372-74500.......... Bracket, EN.......... $53.00 There are other people trying different motor mounts and brackets but can't seem to get them to work. Now, i told you what you need in order for it to work. It's your decision. sphinx. ..... |

Dude, don't get butt hurt. I wasn't talking about you. You're not the one who said "but that i know for sure". And secondly, I don't have an attitude. I'm simply saying that it's not good for people who have not done this swap to tell others (like yourself) to do this and that to your car, and get this and that part becuase they don't know by experience. That's why there are 6gc members here who have done the swap succesfully and are always more than willing to help out and answere any questions that future swappers might have. |

Sorry I misunderstood. I agree that people who haven't done the swap should be giving out advice that is why I was waiting for someone who actually has the swap with that tranny to post some info. |

Hey Sphinx you are using the mr2 passenger side axle bracket and not the gt one correct?

Sphinx is correct. There is no relocation and welding of a frame mount necessary. Sphinx mounts are 100% correct, we are trying to determine which mounts are identical to his from other generations of cars. We'll leave that to be determined. And you might not want to use the GT shift cables. Here's the recent post that clears everything up.
