hey, is this brake light supposed to light up?
![]() only the brake light next to the indicator lights up for me when i have my ehadlights on, and when i brake. could i splice the existing brake light with this light? (theres a bulb in there already., so that they would both light up? This post has been edited by ShadowFX: Jun 19, 2005 - 7:17 AM |

i noticed you both have SX's too. i have a ST and it lights up on mine. maybe its just the way your cars are. you should be able to splice them as long as the bulbs have the same voltage requirements, etc.

yeah i still have no idea what its for. ive been told by Volks (up there ^) that theyre fog lights, for people in Europe or what not.
I spliced my brake lights then, so now they all light up. They just dont turn on while the headlights are on, only braking. do yours come on when your headlights are on rocky? This post has been edited by ShadowFX: Jun 20, 2005 - 5:02 AM |

ah ok. i wish mine did that. I couldnt splice them so they did that. if I did splice both headlight wire and brake wire, the headlights would turn on if i braked sometimes, and a few other problems. so now when the headlights are on, only the outside one is on, dimly, and then then all 4 light up when brakes are applied. i guess its better than nothing

Yeah I think your right Coso. I was under the impression they are the rear fog lights, I am probably wrong though. I was trying to think logically about it to, would they just take a fuse out for us so that only one set of the lights work and not both?

I have a European car, and when I turn my lights on, AND turn my rear fog lights on, those lit up.. (if I brake or not). They are there so that people coming up behind me in heavy snow or whatever should see me better.
Will I loose the rear fogs when I install JDM tails? -------------------- ![]() |

Yes you will loose them Illyont. I also tried to figure it out but the only answer i could make out of it is: Because JDM are RHD cars maybe the wiring for the Foglight is only on the right side Tail light. Maybe if you swap the wiring from both light it will work. But haven't tried it since my car does not need them for the yearly car check. Because its a pre 95 car
![]() But Illyont of you use the existing wiring from your car and only swap the lights then thats not problem, but u wont have 2 brake lights on each side tho. To do that you have the crosswire them with Diodes or something. Dont know the details on that. Edit: About the On topic question. Its indeed the Fog light. And a Fog light (in my country anyways) can only be put on the side you drive. So in a LHD car on the left and a RHD car on the right. So thats why the right side doesnt "work" This post has been edited by Kadett: Jun 27, 2005 - 11:00 AM -------------------- JDM Powerplant installed, BPU coming very soon!

I have my old wiring from European version, which has four bulbs: - in the black plastic brace on the shortest wires from the plug - reverse lights - all other have grey brace - second shortest is fog light, third - brakes, and the longest - turn light I am planning to have brakes and fogs short-circuited with a diod to have nice five brake lights. -------------------- '94 ST202 - tuned, highly apprieciated, but sold.
