i was going down a 2 lane road with 1 lane in the middle for turning, i see these blue headlights tryin to pass me so i see him start gaining on me, so i decide to gun it, of course hes a bit ahead of me since he had a "head start" but then his gain starts slowing down and i eventually pass him and doing 85 down this street isnt 2 smart considering its ALWAYS filled with cops. anywho, it felt good 2 make a "come back"

I think it was pretty much stock, just with rims on it, and those cheap blue "HID" headlights

I tried to get a couple of my friends to run me Friday night, one had a modded D16 and the other had a modded 1.5, they kept mumbling something about "when I get my nitrous" or something. I give one of them credit he just rebuilt his motor because he threw a rod running a stock Eclipse GS.

Have you had a chance to run a B16 or B18 swapped hatch? They are pretty quick. I know a friends crx with a B18C1 thats built with a 50 shot on it actually killed me badly in the eclipse.

I wouldn't mess with a swapped hatch, usually they have more than a swap done and 160hp in a 1 ton car goes a long way. I won't think twice about running a stock CRX Si though, I might stop at a Del Sol VTEC on power but it would be close 0-60 the Del Sol is a little quicker but it slacks a little on the high end when i'm still pulling strong, my car poops out at 120 and pegs at 125. There aren't very many swaps in this area, only a handful, most people claim it but wont pop the hood to proove it like my buddy who has a 428whp Accord sedan with an H22 and T-88 turbo (no s*** this is his claim) running low 9's at Rockingham, he was my friend and I didn't want to embarass him in front of everyone, but last time I checked a 3,000lbs. car needed more along the lines of 700+whp and slicks to break 10 seconds.

Depends on what you swap in. A B16 swapped hatch isnt fast. I have a friend who beats those all the time in his 93 hatch SI which is a SOHC and all he has done is intake/catback/header. B16 is such a common swap and there was a kid with a 96 hatch who paid a good, $5k for it and its slow as balls, then again I kinda have a different point of view than all of you.

Theres also a 4dr Civic circa 1993 and he's running 10s and thats without catching traction until 3rd gear.

Most of these hatches are modded, stock they will be slow. I can beat swapped hatches easily, but I've seen some quick ones that surprised me.

street racing = lame kiddies. Big fines and such if you get caught . . .

crx dx = sloooow. only si = somewhat quick.

b16 is 160hp, but only 110 torque. However on less weight makes it quicker.
b16 turbo . . now you're taking

Dr.

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.

Some people gotta realize sometimes that cars differ like people differ... not all Hondas are lame rice rockets... some of them are simply rockets...

Good luck preaching to this crowd.

I was at the Honda-tech meet a couple weeks ago up in CT, 10sec ~450hp 4dr 92 Civic and you wouldnt even know to look at it except for the huge FMIC.

Yup.

I'll come out and say it, a Celica is not a fast car, at least the ones we get in the states. Now if we had the GT-4 that'd be more like it.

The only reason I'm getting another Celica is because I love the styling and I need a decent looking daily driver that not everyone and their mother has.

That and I've got this vision of a black or white celica dropped on some 17s with the 404 zephyr kit spoilerless... with a different engine.

Oh and CRX DX is slow as balls...

I was going to head up with David and Steven, the two Honda guys but I bought a flat screen TV and wanted to go home and play with my new toy. It's been hard to get through Monroe my brother got busted racing last weekend so i'm still laying low. I'm going to try and make it to NOPI just to check it out.

CRX HX is even slower. What's up with dudes air filter Kwanza, let me guess so much power the intake tried to suck it into the motor, j/k.

Haha... got run over by a truck if I remember correctly. AEM uses these funky rubber filters... pretty durable. =D

BTW, those are two B16B's that get revved to 9600 rpms... One was torn apart and turned into an LSVTEC... these are all 13 second cars with race prepped motors...

And... just about every single SOHC Honda is as slow as and much slower than the typical FE toyota.

I'll have to disagree on that I have a friend with a SOHC EG runs a 15.4, with some simple bolt ons, I dont think a GT here with the same bolt ons can match that, they're just too heavy.
