I maid one a wile ago but it never really looked right. I got a cf (looking) one and installed it with a trd shift knob, i like it but it still does not look right because its kinda streached so that the mettel ring holds it in place.

I can anser any questions you got but a how-to is probibly not worth the time (that I dont have) anyway, ask away I'll do my best to guide you on the install.

1. take off old boot
2. take ring out (cutting is reqired)
3. streach new boot around ring at the desired high (mind did not go up very far into the boot so i have to much slack but it stll works)
4. tigthen the bottum end so the ring does not fall out
5. snap into place (with the plastic trim not in place so you can snap in from the bottum to ensure a good fit)
6. place it over the shifter, and guide it though the boot
7. snap in plastic and tighten the top of the boot around the shifter
8, screw on knob and beggin usage. (shift though all gears slowly to ensure it has enough slack, and your done

(hope that is what you wanted)

I have a suede shift boot, very nice looking and basically its just a piece of suede that I sewed together. I can take a pic later if requested.

Yeah if you look on the bottom of the trim there are these lil "hooks'. In the oem boot there is a metal frame for lack of a better word and it snaps in.
