This chearing over the 17 second anything is bull crap. This is why imports get such a bad name. Guys running low 17's and thinking their doing great. Putting on the bodykits and the bigwheels to make it look like a race car, and then your gutting it and running mid 17's? Makes me sick.

hey i'm not cheering i'm just marking the note of an improvement
and imports don't get a bad name cause some run 17s and think they are doin great but i mean come on its where we start and anything better then the starting point is sumthing to be happy about....who said i'm trying to look like a race car?
and i never said i was running with big wheels where did you find that i ran with 14s on and a bodykit so what i like it if you don't eh i don't care

oh and for all those wondering.........this is just to get a bench mark idea of where i'm starting hopefully i'll be dropping a few seconds off this time shortly

Do you know why people started putting the body kits on and the big wheels? It's to make them look like racecars. Same reason people put the big wings on, but body kits and big wheels are found much more acceptable for some reason. You've got that thing bagged, don’t you? And I know you've got a body kit. And I think you're running 17s-18s normally. I bet you've got a loud "race inspired" exhaust too. About the wheel thing, there are plenty of lightweight, and better choices to make your car handle better. Same thing goes for the body kit. They are race inspired and with the right one you can reduce drag and increase down force, and exactly the same for a good wing. But you don't need any of those if your running above a 14sec max in the quarter, I guess maybe a 15. People laugh at imports, because most think they're dumb, and do stupid things to their cars. People just assume that because I drive and import, I like systems and big shiny wheels. I'm trying to change this image, but having a difficult time due to the abundance of ricers. Your just as bad as any ricer I've ever seen, and you give imports a bad name. I've seen your headlight conversion, and the money you've spent on your car. This doesn’t exclude you, it just makes you a ricer with talent and money.

Note to all: I'm sorry about being so mean. I make a point to never say mean things to people, but I feel I've been pushed to the edge. That, and I'm at my parents house visiting for a bit, and I'm cranky. I know I'll feel bad about saying these things once I've gotten home and relaxed. But right now, I feel it needs said.

EDIT: Heck, I'm sorry now. I've got pinned up rage against all kinds of import drivers and I seem to be taking it out on playr158. Just to let you know it's not as personal as it sounds playr.

haha nah its all good i can take the opinion i mean i don't expect everyone to like what i do....

but lets clear it up piece by piece

"You've got that thing bagged,"
~nope coilover and shocks

"you're running 17s-18s normally"
~ 14s have now become the "normal" and strip use rims and my 18s are just there too look nice when i wana go out sumwhere

"I bet you've got a loud "race inspired" exhaust too"
~ not really loud its the quietest one i've had so far and its dual (yea ricey i know) and not race inspired lol mostly just cause i like the even balanced look and dual exhaust made it look nice...and by no means race inspired but did help performance a little..and thank god for the silencers you can hear it but its one of the more quiet ones and i still need to put my resonator back in...freakin stupid mechanic took it out frown.gif

"Same thing goes for the body kit. They are race inspired and with the right one you can reduce drag and increase down force, and exactly the same for a good wing"
~how true you are too bad there arn't any wind tunnel tested kits for our car otherwise i woulda been all over it

"This doesn’t exclude you, it just makes you a ricer with talent and money"
~ i've pretty much figured with all the bitching on the boards(meaning all import related forums) that ricer no longer means the kid with the coffee can (literally), park bench wing, and cut springs.....ricer now has become anyone who drives an import so eh.....ricer or not nobody really cares

^^^^^^^^^^^^
I thought the same thing, it explains why they cost so much more.

Man if you run mid 17s with a mostly stock gutted ST, I could probably do high 15's by shaving weight, i'm happy with low 16's and my cupholder though.
