I have a set of seats that I need to take apart and dye so I can put them in my car. Do you guys have any tips on how to take apart the seats?

Thanks!

Yeah, I just want to get the cushions alone, off of the brackets, so that I can dye them easier.

are you dying them black?

make sure you do heavy coats with it. My friend died his tan seats black and after a year it started fading. Also they get a stiff after you dye them.

Coomer I still have those yellow seats, IDK if ur still interested but they're just sitting there collecting dust. You could always dye them black but shipping would probably be a bundle.

Yes, I'm dying them black. I've done it successfully on my beater, and the seats didn't turn hard or anything, and they've held up well considering the beater sits outside in the sun nearly every day. Did your friend maybe use the fabric paint or something from Duplicolor? I've had great results with VHT carpet dye. smile.gif

Thanks for the offer Erik, but vinyl would kill me during our 100+ degree days in the summer. wink.gif
