well my g/f got a 90 celica that has a 3sgte in it and we need a hood scoop without it the intercooler wont get much air and i was wondering did it matter between a bolt on and a stick on whether one is better that the other or something. i know they will borth work just wondering it would last longer to get a bolt on will the stick on one come off eventually or something. just basic stuff

Well stick on just sounds horrible, and with the heat coming off the engine I dont know how one would stay on the glue would melt. Botl on isnt easy either considering your molding fiberglass to metal and thats not a good bond so it'll crack like mine has. If you want it molded go to a shop and ask them to give you advice but if you want to just put one on i'd say bolt it on.

Go to a reputable body shop and buy 'panel bond' It's the next best thing to welding. |

Get a new hood, do it right.
Mine as well, has cracked, despite rivet and fiberglass... They just dont bond - heat up at different speeds, and they pull and push on each other, and boom, its ugly. -------------------- If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

dude. by the time you buy a decent scoop, have it PROPERLY installed, and painted, you'll spend just as much as u would have on a alltrac hood. ESPECIALLY if you hunted hard enough and fould a used one.

My brother had a WRX scoop molded to his Legacy, but the scoop itself cost 100 bucks, then he had to have a shop cut his hood, mold the thing on, and then paint the rest of his hood back to the original color. After everything was done he had spent, I believe, close to 500 bucks.. I would search some junkyards and maybe you'll get lucky and find an Alltrac hood.
WRX hood scoops dont look good on anything that isn't wearing a WRX badge.. no dice on the WRX scoop on a Celica.. Also, why dont you look into buying some piping and make a front mount intercooler? -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

DG has a WRX scoop on his. No matter what you're going to have to take it somewhere to get it professionally done, and even then they'll tell you it might crack. Mines cracking but I did it myself, so thats why. Theres really not a good material to bond metal and fiberglass.
