Alright....so I go through the trouble of finding the old post with the Toyota Service Manual and download it so I could see how (or where, really...) to change my transmission fluid. The illustration in the .pdf files shows a Camry or Corolla transmission probably....Definately not the S54, and I just need to know where the drain and fill points are located.
I think I know where they might be, but before I pull any bolts out let me ask any of you guys if you could help me out first. Pics would be handy as well. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

Look for a 24mm bolt on the bottom of the tranny and one up just a bit higher. I know they're 24mm on the C-52. I'd imagine the S-54 is the same, but I'm not sure.

Alright, thanks Coomer. Theres a bolt that looks to be that size on the bottom of what I believe is called the differential casing?....lol....The only problem is finding the fill point. I looked just above what I'm very confident is the drain bolt, but didn't see a fill bolt anywhere. Is it accessed under the hood or underneath by the tranny? I'll take some pics tomorrow, and see if any of you guys can confirm anything.

If your looking at the tranny from the front its on the right, on the very bottom parallel to the ground, not facing down. Its 24mm I believer like coomer said and you cant miss it. The fill plug is on the front side, facing towards you (if ur looking from the front of the car).

remove the 2 24m bolts... make sure to use a 6 point socket cause those strip easy. after you take them out and drain the oil, put the bottom bolt in, and fill new oil into the top one. it takes about 3 bottles and youll know when its full because it will start pouring out. just wait till it stops pouring out and put in the top bolt.

Alright, thanks alot you guys. I'm gonna investigate a little closer tomorrow morning, and I'll let you know how things turn out.

[right][snapback]304929[/snapback][/right] Loosen the fill bolt before the drain bolt. You don't want to drain the oil only to find out that you can't get the fill bolt loose. Mine were very, very tight and both required lots of torque to break them loose. And I'd use a funnel with a tube duct-taped to it so you can just pour the oil in from the top of your engine bay. DONE. It took less than an hour. My bolts weren't very tight. It was much easier than I expected it to be.
I used Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil for manual transmissions -------------------- |

Haha....I realized today I dont own a metric socket more than 19mm
