i was not the one who deleted it, however only 6gc related sales are allowed on the F/S forum, its clearly stated in the rules for that forum. sorry for the confusion, but please read the forum rules so as to not have these communication problems. thanks. 5th gens are perfectly welcome here, its just a 6gc specific FS forum.

QUOTE(Coomer @ Dec 16, 2002 - 2:20 AM)
Hello,
I hope that this forum will be very helpful for the sixth generation Celica community. To make the most out of this forum, a couple rules need to be followed.

1. Please do not post any advertising in these forums. Group buys are fine, but simply advertising your company or someone else's will just clutter up this forum, and those posts will be removed.

2. If you're selling something, please append "FS:" to the beginning of the topic title. If you want to buy something, please append "WTB:" to the beginning of the topic title.

3. Please post things relating ONLY to sixth gen. Celicas in this forum. Universal parts(such as 52mm gauges, stereo equipment, etc.) is alright, as long as it will fit in the sixth gen. Celica.

4. Once you have completed the sale, please edit your topic title to say "SOLD, DELETE" as the topic title, so that the management can remove the un-needed post and free up space and free up the search function.

Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation in this matter.  Enjoy the forums! smile.gif

Also, this forum is just for information. Buying and selling things on the internet can be risky, so it's advised that you use an escrow service such as Escrow.com when buying or selling something. 6G Celicas and its management is in no way responsible for anything that is sold or purchased on these forums.

I just noticed that.

First of all, I find it VERY funny that we're allowed to have threads talking about sex and posting pics of half-naked women, but if you post an ad for a 5th gen Celica, OMG! Delete it quick! Kind of odd.

Also, one would be hard pressed to prove that a 5th gen Celica is not related to the 6th Gen at all, since they share so much. And many of the people here like the other generations as well, so I don't see the big issue. For example, this car could very well be picked up by a 6th gen owner for parts since many of the parts do in fact "fit into a 6th gen" as quoted from the rules.

ANYWAY, that's not even the point, those are the rules that Coomer wrote and I will abide by them (I just didn't realize how strict they were about little stuff like that). MY POINT is how poorly it was handled. Just deleted, no explaination, no response... very poor moderating.

-Doc

Your thread was deleted because you clearly violated a rule that's clearly stated and should've been read prior to posting in the buying/selling forum. We rarely PM people when we delete threads because it's almost always because a rule that was clearly posted and should've been read was violated. If you PM us and ask why it's been deleted, we'll tell you. But it's not our responsibility to PM people when they break the rules.

lol, the mods here are actualy very good, they delete stupid things, or things that violate the rules, but let some things go because of the large number of people who are ok with them.

don't diss the mods for doing there job.....

That's what eBay and Craigs List and several other sites are for. This is a sixth gen. Celica website, and I don't think having a non-sixth-gen. for sale section is a very good idea.

That makes the management even angrier than when people don't follow the rules in the buying/selling forum.

Maybe the moderator who deleted it deleted it and then got offline and hadn't had a chance to read your PM yet...we usually try to get back to PMs when possible, but we live busy lives like everyone else. wink.gif

his status being "online" could have been cached in your system. i know a few times after i've logged off, or left the site, people IM me telling me they are watching me in a topic, when i haven't been on the boards for 30+minutes.

agreed if you can't sell 5th gen parts (5th gen clips, 5th gen 3sgte parts ect...)
but your allowing 7th gen seats?

hypocritical

and i disagree coomer with your thoughts that a non-6gc F/S wouldn't be a good idea 99% of all other forums have a spot like that and it works great and considering how many time this has happened (a few in the last like month or two) i think it would be a good idea..

Dr_Tweak, I just got your pm and replied to it. I apologize if my slow response time is 'bad moderating' however I do the best I can. I think this topic you made that I suck is out of line considering all I did was follow Coomer's rules. In the future I would suggest that you wait a reasonable amount of time before assuming that I am blowing you off. Like Coomer said we all lead lives outside of the forum and sometimes we can only check the forum a few times per day.

Also Playr I think you misunderstand. Any parts relating to the 6g celica are allowed. That means st185 front clips are obviously acceptable, as well as any parts that can be used in a 6g, whether they be interior or anything as long as they can be used by 6g owners. Dr_Tweak's for sale item was a 91 st, and the majority of that car does not relate to the 6g celica, therefore it was deleted.

I think what he means is that he'd like to see a Miscellaneous FS section or something. Somewhere where you can post things for sale that aren't directly related to the 6gc. Maybe in the Off-Topic section there could be a "General FS" section. I think that would be a good idea; eBay fee's are ridiculous on higher-value items. I have a bunch of stuff laying around that I'd like to get rid of but can't justify selling them on eBay because of the fees on higher-value goods. Eh, just my 2 cents.
