QUOTE(Batman722 @ Aug 12, 2005 - 5:28 AM) QUOTE(Batman722 @ Jun 28, 2005 - 2:39 PM) celica dragon history http://1982celica.illusionfxnet.com/itsadragon.html QUOTE(amysmojo @ Aug 12, 2005 - 2:48 AM) haha found some "history" thing: Brief History of Celica and 1982 Production Toyota named the car "Celica," which derived from medieval Spaniards that used Latin and it's literal translation is a plural form of "celestial" as in "celestial things". The original dragon logo depicts a celestial blue dragon; symbol of the East and representative of the Emperor and celestial power. The dragon logo emblem depicted above adorned the first of the first generation Celicas. 158,800 total Celicas were produced for production year 1982 for the Japan and international markets. There were 115,690 Toyota Celicas sold in the USA for production year 1982. This includes both the ST and GT grades combined. QUOTE(hisashi94gtst204 @ Jul 15, 2005 - 11:14 PM) I got quoted for $18 retail for one at Toyota Parts Department. Plus i get a little discount. It's the same price for the cursive "celica" emblem. For the celica emblems is costing me $27 for two and they said it's the same price for the dragons. it's from a 71 celica. part #? i checked my local dealer and they said it would cost around $17 or so. But i dunno if its the right peice. |

if you got the dragon emblem for $27 each you got ripped off. The ones at toyota are the right ones. They have a picture of the part in there computer system. It's only black and white in the pic but its the part. I'd rather spend $27 for two emblems in stead of one.

QUOTE(97lestyousay @ Aug 13, 2005 - 2:53 AM) While we're on the subject I need 96 97 limited edition dragon badge. If you want my opinion it looks more like a viking ship to me. I feel silly but , for years my brother in law had an 80's celica and I never really focused on the emblem ,just glanced at and thought it was swan. |

I was obviously kidding playr, i dont normally bash people on here for ****s and giggles like a few cats that will remain unknown. If i seriously got that pissed off by someone calling it a swan, i think i might need some stress theropy. Go work on your car.

I love that emblem. My buddy has a vinal cutter and I'm thinkin of putting it on the back window or somewhere. I think the supra/celica one should be on some of those suprica conversions out there. A nice finishing touch.
