I think it's rusted to the hub/brake assembly. I took off the lugs and it won't even move. I sprayed some penetrant behind the wheel and hit it and swore at it and it still won't budge. I was thinking that I might lower the jack so the weight of the car would do the job, but I'm afraid if it's rusted really tight, I just might end up bending my brake and suspension stuff.

Any Ideas?

do it the discount tire way...kick it with the bottom of your foot or hit it with a rubber malet. it works for us.

I did kick it, but gently. Could I damage anything if I did it too hard?

not really. its made to take a beating. make sure to kick the tire and not the wheel. it tends to hurt.

you'd have to hit them pretty hard, I don't think I could kick a tire hard enough to cause a bubble

kick the top of the rim with the heel of your foot.
It'll break loose.

If you kick/hit it really hard and it still doesn't come loose, then kick/hit harder. It is just rusted stuck. Take a hammer and tap it from behind the wheel, it will come loose. Just make sure you have all 5 lug nuts off first wink.gif

theres also a trick with a jack..recommended on bigger trucks, but you slam a rolling jack into the tire. that creates alot more force than kicking it. you have to make sure not to hit the wheel tho. us tire tech have our own tricks up our sleeves.

I don't want to kick it too hard, because all thats supporting it is the factory jack. I don't have a rolling jack or jackstands now. Is it possible that the car will fall off the jack?
